Combine measurements

[edit]

Changed his combine height for "6'1" to "6'4" and weight from "171" to "221." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.22.238.83 (talk) 17:58, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

I have multiple free-use photos of Brandon Weeden in as the quarterback for OSU, but don't know how to add it? If someone could set that up or inform me, I could improve the article. 139.78.10.8 (talk) 09:05, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, fixed it. Made some huge overalls to the article, such as added picture, added stats, added awards/records history. Made the page live up a bit more to the reputation of the guy. 139.78.10.8 (talk) 10:21, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I saw this image from flickr (this may be your photostream) [1] and uploaded to commons under Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Generic license, then added a cropped version as per the license, I'm not sure what happen to your commons upload if you don't use the correct license when you upload it will be flagged for deletion. ▪◦▪≡SiREX≡Talk 17:32, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Baseball

[edit]

"If drafted, he will be one of the first players to have been signed to an MLB and NFL franchise in many years"

I don't think this is quite as rare as the author might believe. For example, Quan Cosby signed an NFL deal after years in the minors, Wisconsin Russell Wilson will likely sign with an NFL team after playing in the minors for the Rockies ... and those are just two guys that popped into my head with no research.

It's not exactly common, but it's not unheard of. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kosmo99 (talkcontribs) 03:01, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There were some inappropriate WP:FANCRUFTy statements in the lead, which I have deleted. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:46, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with the update on MLB & NFL signings...but OSU's sudden rise to football prowess has definitely put them on the NCAAF map, and this is due pretty much completely to Brandon Weeden. And if it's fancrufty, there is definitely some major cleaning-up necessary on almost every popular, active, NCAA athlete's page. -Terrance the James (talk) 14:30, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There probably is. I don't edit many college athlete pages (I'm only here for his relationship to the Yankees), but I'd encourage anyone reading this to remove unencyclopedic cruft from other pages, or else rewrite it to conform with encyclopedic policies (meaning reliably sourced). – Muboshgu (talk) 00:18, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Heisman-ship

[edit]

If pictures are necessary, they will be posted, but a User stripped his Heisman nominee status, claiming he wasn't invited to New York. Follow him on twitter or something, there's a picture of the letters to Weeden and Blackmon inviting them to the ceremony. Reverting the change. Terrance the James (talk) 09:40, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This says he was not a finalist. He may have gone to New York to watch the ceremony, but he was not one of the five finalists (Montee Ball, Trent Richardson, Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, and Tyrann Mathieu were the five finalists). Please do not add back without a valid source. Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:05, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
