Significance of games where the pitcher has double-digit strikeout efforts
[edit]Brandon Morrow currently leads the league for SP's with SO/9 Innings Pitched (by a wide margin no less) and is known for overpowering batters. Any pitcher having 10+ SO's in a game is fairly significant; moreso when they can duplicate the effort. I believe it contributes to his reputation and to general awareness of exceptional baseball performance to record these efforts here. That being said, good luck to the person doing it for Randy Johnson. 72.76.243.61 (talk) 22:46, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
I have no doubt of the difficulty in throwing 10+ K's per outing, but we simply cannot record a detailed account of every time Morrow has done so. I am a Jays fan and have witnessed, on more than one occasion, Morrow's ability to overpower hitters and I agree completely that he is a great talent. Instead of adding an account of each excellent performance, they could be summed up at the end of a regular season, with something like "In the 2011 season, Morrow pitched "X" amount of games with more than 10 K's (and/or led the league on Srikeouts/9 innings). Were he to lead the league in such performances (or in any major pitching category), it would certainly warrant inclusion on the page, but as singluar performances, they don't.
