Height

[edit]

Does anyone have a reliable source for his height? I removed the source that was linked to celebheights.com as that is a blog site, full of opinoins and the height is derived from what the character of "Robert" says on the show. Of course that doesn't mean it's the actors height in real life. 99.149.197.13 (talk) 23:41, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Maura Sue[reply]

His claimed height "6'8 1/2" is pure bullshit like everything else on wikipedia. Everytime and everywhere on the Raymond show, he walking easily straight under doorways and does it with his shoes on, these are standard 6'8 doorways. Garrett is around 6'5 at best.
One thing i know, if you change something that was edited by a moderator(even if this SOB is wrong and have no sources - as usually) you will ended up banned, because the moderators MUST have the final words. Thats what wikipedia has become... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.145.38.52 (talk) 21:39, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, sounds like someone has a bad case of the grumpies. A few things: No one will be particularly appreciative of your contributions if you start with whining about how the big bad Wikipedia "mods" done you wrong. (Sounds like you've been blocked before...) Calling random people "SOB"s is not a friend-winning strategy either. Your original research about his height is, of course, not helpful either.
That said, I don't see a source in the article for his height. If you doubt the figure and you are not currently blocked from editing (blocks apply to you as a person, not just your user name), feel free to either request a source (by adding {{fact}} after the disputed fact) or simply remove it as unsourced. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 01:02, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind. From a brief look around, you've been through this several times before. The original request here and the follow up are obviously the same person (ditto both edits whining about height issues at Talk:Penn Jillette and, no doubt, other gripes). cf User_talk:Rifleman_82/Archive_2_(End_Dec_2006). Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 01:14, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You really think i care what you saying? "Your original research about his height is, of course, not helpful either" oh well, what about the 6'8 1/2 claim in the first place who was based on ONE persons opinion: the man Rob who runs celebheights, but when you go ahead and read the comments on the very same page, you will see most ppl give Barrett 6'6 (still too tall imo) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.145.38.52 (talk) 12:14, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a reliable source, please share. Otherwise, there's nothing more to say here. - SummerPhD (talk) 00:37, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the reliable source for the 6'8 1/2? bring up or shutup — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.145.38.52 (talk) 14:26, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing more to say here. - SummerPhD (talk) 20:41, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Since the article contains no reliable source, the "6'8 1/2" should be removed. How dare you ask ME for a "reliable source" in a DISCUSSION, when you ignoring the fact that the article itself contains no reliable source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.145.38.52 (talk) 20:47, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be under the impression that I am here to do what you ask. I'm not. You made a claim about his height. I asked for a source. If you don't have one, the information is not verifiable and of no use to us. You've been around enough that you either should know that or need to learn it. Verifiability is one of our core principles. - SummerPhD (talk) 02:37, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

-I- made a claim?! i questioned the claim in article since his height cannot be verified, it exists no source - THATS the problem. Why was 6'8 1/2 put there in the first place? since you could not bring up i suggest you to shut up, now stop stalking me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.145.38.52 (talk) 12:47, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Talking about Brad's height and weight and muscle should be part of the entry, since his physical size has had a lot to do with his success. When he plays cops he's believable. GuyBig (talk) 16:14, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My husband was 6'8 ½" in his stocking feet, he weighed 300 lbs. and his inseam was 37"! When he put on a wing-tip shoe he was easily 6'10" or 6' 11".
However, when leaving a room, he had a way of looking down at the the door knob (which lowered his head). At the same time to cover that he was turning just a slight bit sideways (he was 38" across the shoulders in a padded suit coat) he would smile and speak back over his shoulder to the people he was leaving.
My husband was 6'2" in the 6th grade, and becase he "stuck uot" he had to learn early the tricks of being graceful in awkward situations, and he pulled it off 99% of the time without exception. However sometime a ceiling fan would lay him low. Lol 😁
When we went out to eat, and the other party would suggest a booth, my husband would step to the front and guide the group to a table; for he could not get his legs in a booth: where at a table, he could stretch his legs accros the table & put his feet under my chair.
If the door openings are standard on the ELR show, Mr. Garrett is indeed 6' 8 ½".
My husband is gone 15 years now, but when I see the posturing of Robert Barone enter or leave a room, my husband lives again. 💞 108.59.221.3 (talk) 06:08, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Superman

[edit]

He was also Reverend Bob on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (almost performing the wedding of the two reporters only to land a comedy gig on a cruise ship); could somebody place this role in the correct spot? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.252.195.5 (talk) 06:53, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sacrifice

[edit]

Garrett played a memorable role in Shiny Entertainment's Sacrifice as James. As far as I know it is the extent of his work in the video game industry, but it is still notable and should be added where it is deemed appropriate. 69.126.50.100 (talk) 13:32, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This role is mentioned at Sacrifice (video_game)#Development, but it is unsourced. Can you find a Reliable Source for this? If so, it would make a good addition to the game article. JoeSperrazza (talk) 21:12, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Would this [1] be a reliable source? JoeSperrazza (talk) 21:15, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is important to mention it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.6.15.61 (talk) 14:35, 25 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Professional Poker Player?

[edit]

Wouldn't your winnings need to exceed your entry fees to be considered a professional? His winnings are $14k according to https://www.cardplayer.com/poker-players/44598-brad-garrett/results/overall . His entry fees were at least $50k, $10k each for the 2005-07, 2009, & 2011 Main Event. Maybe avid is a better description. Mattman944 (talk) 13:02, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mattman944 Honestly. I'm seriously raising issues with the entire statement that he is a professional poker player; especially being in the lede. Shouldn't this be an on-going part of his life and career for it to be a statement of "professionalism"? There are a lot of celebrities who play poker and even enter into tournaments; but I don't see them being called "professional poker players" on their pages.
