Fair use rationale for Image:Repco brabham logo.png

[edit]

Image:Repco brabham logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Sorted, at least once, and possibly twice, since this message was left. FU rationales for all three articles the logo appears in. 4u1e (talk) 09:23, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox image

[edit]

I'm not familiar with FA standards, but surely the infobox should feature an image of the car, not the company's logo? There's a perfectly good image in the article already that would go there - it's not like we're lacking a decent one. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 21:00, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. As I had a photo of the car on display at the National Sports Museum, I have uploaded it to commons and put it in the infobox; the logo is now elsewhere in the article. Bahnfrend (talk) 14:40, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"As of 2009"

[edit]

What's the current position on the car's location? I was thinking of selecting this for TFA - after all, it's been waiting a while now - but the situation really needs to be updated first. BencherliteTalk 00:09, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I followed the link to National Sports Museum which in turn had a link to its official website and found a picture of the car here where its mentioned in a Jack Brabham exhibit. It was a pretty simple exercise. Did you try that? --Falcadore (talk) 07:31, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I found that page, but that particular page is from 2011, it seems, so I wanted to know what the current position is (if different) e.g. if it was provided for an exhibition on a temporary basis or whether the museum was its permanent home. After all, the article says it's on loan, which doesn't necessarily mean that it would have remained at the NSM, and an "as of 2009" date might suggest a temporary state of affairs. In fact, though, I can't see in the sources that Repco still own it or that it's a loan not a donation - can you help on that front? This doesn't say either way.
