It seems to me that while these may be related terms, they are not things that anyone really uses the coinage "boylove" to refer to--the term is used exclusively by pedophile activists as a validating label for their interests.
- That is not true. Boylove is a term used as a synonym for homosexual paedophilia, that is, those with a sexual attraction to young boys. As far as I know, there are no specific "activist" undertones to it. It may be that some who identify as Boylovers wish to reform the age of consent, but that is not what defines the term. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.132.223.127 (talk) 02:57, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
I suggest a reversion to earlier forms of the page.
Specific notes:
- Homoerotic, suggestive onstage homoerotic play between male bandmembers, common amongst American punk bands.
- Nobody actually uses the term in this way, that's just silly.
- Pederasty, ancient Greek sexual/mentoring relationship between an adult male and teen boy. bad definition.
- Bad definition. The meaning of this term in modern usage is much more narrowly sexual and does not refer to the Greeks. Also, the term "boylove is anachronistic in this context.
- Uranian, Victorian and Edwardian manifestation of eroticized relationships which ran along the ancient Greek pederastic model (see Uranian poetry).
- Did these guys actually use "boylove" to refer to themselves? If so then it's interesting, but a citation is needed.
- Shōnen-ai, popular Japanese fan manga focused on homosexual relationships between male characters (less sexual than Yaoi).
- This is actually a useful redirect. However, the Japanese term is "Boiz-rabu" or "Boy's Love" not "boylove". Also, it's misleading to place it in this list because, in the Japanese context, the term was created to avoid any sexual implications (as explained on the shonen-ai page).
- Shudo, pre-modern Japanese sexual/mentoring relationship between an adult male and teen boy.
- Term "boylove" is anachronistic in this context.
- Slash, English language fan fiction that contains male homosexual relationships as the primary plot.
- Bad definition. While gay relationships are common in slash, much of it is heterosexual or lesbian.
- Yaoi, popular Japanese fan manga focused on homosexual relationships between male characters.
- This is incorrect. "Boy's Love" in Japan refers to romantic but non-sexual manga about young boys. Yaoi is cartoon pornography about men of any age.

Boylove sounds too much like boy-love, or Shōnen-ai, so I'm not sure if redirecting it straight to propeadophile is the right thing to do. JayKeaton 07:57, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- I agree that Boys Love (as an umbrella term for anything Japanese, drawn, and homoerotic, including yaoi and shonen-ai) is similar enough to boylove that people might get lost, so I've turned this article into a disambiguation, including the films "Boys Love". -Malkinann (talk) 00:02, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
