[edit]Bowled by a wide - how is this supposed to occur?Captain Pedant 13:15, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have no idea. The only conceivable scenario would be if he chased after a double bouncer or high lob after it had been called wide and deflected it onto his stumps; but surely any ball a batsman hits cannot be considered wide by definition! Citation needed indeed. DublinDilettante (talk) 01:09, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
It can't happen. A Wide is a ball too far away from the stumps to play at, so how can he be bowled? If he plays it on its no wide, and a waist high full toss is a no-ball. And therefore not out anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.65.64 (talk) 07:26, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- Removed. Law 25.8 says a batsman can only be out hit wicket, stumped, run out, handled the ball or obstructing the field on a wide. —Raven42 (talk) 19:45, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Bowled second behind caught as commonest way of being out? I haven't got any stats but I'd have thought it was lbw.Haldraper (talk) 09:33, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
