Speedy Deletion challenge
[edit]I would like to contest the Speedy Deletion nomination of this article, and humbly assert that the subject of the article is notable under the following WP: MUSIC criteria:
- 1: It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.
- The band received positive reviews from non-trivial music press sites such as Pitchfork Media, Three Imaginary Girls, and The Onion AV Club. Pitchfork also gave the band press in an article on one of their live shows and one regarding their EP release.
- 6: Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such, and that common sense exceptions always apply.
- Two of the band's members were ex-members of the notable indie rock band Silkworm (which released albums on notable indie labels Touch And Go and Matador), and its drummer hails from the band Seam. As Silkworm and Seam are no longer musically active, this means that Bottomless Pit are the members' main band and that the article is inappropriate for a redirect to another article.

- I'm not totally convinced of overall notability, but the added review citations are certainly enough to call off a speedy delete. We'll see how it goes from here. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 06:19, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
