User:-Midorihana- asked, "I would like to know what more I can do on this article to improve it and its content. Thank you." The advice I usually give is to spend more time looking for sources than writing. This article looks nice, and it might be the start of a fine article, but it doesn't have any sources, since botball.org can't be a source. For example, from one of your notes at botball.org: "Just over one third of Botball students were undecided about their college careers, and after participating in Botball 100% of these students now plan to pursue a degree in a technical or math-related field." 100% of up to 40,000 students don't even tie their shoes, much less make their college decisions based on a botball tournament. Botball.org is self-promotional, and wouldn't be an acceptable source even if it weren't.

Here are some newspaper sources, which I found through news.google.com. You'll probably find many more sources if you check their archives. I'm not familiar with these newspapers and I can't speak for their reliability, but they had good content and style:

Thank you for your suggestions. Midorihana~いいですね? はい! 21:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was actually took the 2009 survey and talked to other team members about it; I think the ~80% is fairly accurate. However, I do agree that botball.org is self-promotional in many aspects. In this day and age what isn't? Still, some ideas for expansion of this article. First, Update it to this years competition. Second, move some of the outdated material, like the handyboard, XBC, etc., to a separate section of past competitions. Pictures of robots would be nice, as well as a movie of lasts year final round (I would suggest double-elim). Discussion of the different round types: seeding, Double-elim, Alliance. Also, the Kipr open has been changed to "Beyond Botball." Can't think of anything else right now. Balgarion13 (talk) 23:27, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sports aren't proper names, e.g. football, baseball, so Botball seems incorrect. Counter example: Ultimate (sport). Widefox; talk 09:25, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
