Original Name

When First settled in 1734 its original settlers called it Contoocook. It retained this name until 1760 when the name was changed. I would have added this bit but the format has changed, and I cannot figure how to add the source, which is Boscawen NH Genwebpage from about 2006. Town flag

Someone added a reference with info about the town's new flag. However, there is no text in the article about the flag, so the ref really shouldn't be in the article at this point. I've moved it here, and someone is welcome to update the article with some text if they are so moved. ^[1]
