[edit]I cannot find any evidence that Kustodiev is considered an art deco painter. Further, the term art deco was coined in 1925, just two years before Kustodiev died. So I am replacing this characterization with the indisputable phrase "painter and stage designer".

The Merchant's Wife
[edit]The Merchant's Wife. is not exactly how painting is called in original language (Russian). In Russian it's more like "Купчиха за чаем" -> "The She-Merchant at drinking tea". The important bit here - it's not a wife of a merchant, but she is merchant itself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soswow (talk • contribs) 04:27, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- For the record, the Russian Wikipedia has a long article on the painting: ru:Купчиха за чаем. --50.53.40.122 (talk) 08:36, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
