Famous BTs section
[edit]I propose we delete entries in the Famous BT section having to do with advertisements. These dogs hardly qualify as "famous." Also, the entry about several border terriers in a Tarzan film could also be removed. Again, you wouldn't call them "famous." The section could be retitled "Exhaustive list of all Border Terrier appearances in all forms of media," but that does not seem like something that belongs in an encyclopedia. Thoughts? --Faith healer 14:09, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Toto from Return to Oz
[edit]Someone removed Toto (of Return to Oz) from the list of famous border terriers (and it has since been re-added). Perhaps the one who removed it thought it referred to Toto from the original Wizard of Oz, who was a Cairn terrier. Although I am not the one who added this item, it does seem from Google searches (and Toto's wiki entry that the dog in Return to Oz was in fact a border terrier, so I thought I would leave this note to for future reference. --Faith Healer 21:22, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes it was actually a Border Terrier. HuskyMoon 11:41, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Baxter from Anchorman
[edit]The dog Baxter in anchorman is not a border terrier. It is a terrier of some sort perhaps with a bit of border in it somewhere but it mmost definitely not a border terrier. Was wondering if this should be removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Duffit (talk • contribs) 17:03, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Request for a picture
[edit]If anyone has one, I'd love to see a picture of a Border Terrier that isn't kept stripped. I think that would help people who see them on the street as pets to be able to better identify them as 'Border Terrier,' as I know from experience that a stripped terrier often looks very different from a clipped dog. Am I out of line here? I just think that that would be a good addition to the article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mythicaldog (talk • contribs) .
- Sounds good to me. If you see one, take a photo and upload it to wikipedia! :-) Elf | Talk 01:02, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Nice job, done. Good one. Cute. HuskyMoon 23:11, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Pics of wheaten coloured border terriers
[edit]I'm just about to pick up my new BT puppy, Molly. She is Blue & Tan coloured. Does anyone have a pic of a wheaten coloured BT they could post on this page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RN Skin (talk • contribs) 06:02, June 22, 2006 (UTC).
Unstripped Border Terrier
[edit]Here's a photo of my 3 year old border terrier Foley. She hasn't been stripped (and looks completely different when she is - leaner, more like a mini Rhodesian Ridge Back). As you can see she'd just enjoyed opening her christmas prezzies. --Urddas 09:04, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
That last picture is an excellent picture of an unstripped border and a puppy. It's good because it's "the natural look for both a grown dog and a puppy" (coats often change colors and appearance) and will help the general public understand how Borders have different appearances. Nice one! HuskyMoon 23:04, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Why is this page deemed inappropriate for wikipedia? These judgement boxes on wikipedia are getting out of hand. This is a dog page. What is inappropriate about that?
The first-person perspective in the "Earthdog trials" section of the Border Terrier article is, to say the least, bizarre. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Groganus (talk • contribs) 23:26, 5 October 2007 (UTC) The first person perspective was because the text in question had been copied from the link that was given. I have removed it as there is already an Earthdog trial article on Wikipedia 12Ghost12 (talk · contribs · count · logs) Sunday, 2007-10-21 06:11 (UTC) |
