Bop A stylish, medium-tempo dance (between "fast" or "hand dancing," and slow drag), popular amoung African-Americans at dances and house parties in the Washington, D.C. area during the late 1950's and 1960's. Similar dance called "Social" in other parts of the country (ex. Detroit, MI).

Card game

Isn't there a card game called Bop? At least, if it is not called Bop, it is called something similar - I shall need to look into this. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 15:19, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have just been looking in my copy of the Penguin Book of Card Games, and there is not a game there called Bop - I wondered whether I might have been thinking of Bezique. Having read about some of these games, I think the most likely contender for the game I was thinking of is Klabberjass - what might have confused me is that is called "Clobiosh" or something like that in the East End of London.
