Bad Reaction Scheme
[edit]The reaction scheme Boordreaction1930.png contains mistakes.
In the paper by Boord, iso-pentyl-MgX was reacted with Br-CH2-CHBr-OEt to give iso-pentyl-CH(OEt)-CH2-Br, and the latter eliminated with Mg. The first two steps of the present scheme are not in the original paper, and neither the third, where a Br is removed by reaction with RMgX (what should R be?), which makes no sense.129.187.209.54 (talk) 14:21, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- The R in RMgBr should replace Bromine. I am pretty sure I consulted the original paper so I will have to look it up. In the meanwhile image removed. V8rik (talk) 21:09, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
