Future
[edit]How do we know they have been completely scrapped? Programs are often taken off channels after a while to enable another series to run, and with the amount of shows Boomerang has access, there are more programs than can be shown on the channel at the one time. Reubot (talk) 12:52, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I vote that this section is a load of rubbish, Courage the Cowardly Dog is still screening on Cartoon Network. Reubot (talk) 06:41, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
It's not a load of rubbish because Boomerang has stopped showing all of the classic HB shows (not including in the middle of the night) except for The Smurfs, The Flintstones and Scooby Doo in favour of Cartoon Cartoons and other shows. Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo are repeated so heavily that when I switch on to Boomerang I can bet that one of those shows will be on. So you can't tell me that Boomerang isn't removing those shows permenantly. 124.176.171.123 (talk)09:17, 15 February 2008
Find me some proof and then maybe I'll believe you. Reubot (talk) 08:39, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply mate, but it seems Boomerang is bringing back a few old shows to Saturday afternoons in June. I can't get over the fact that they would put a show like Out of Jimmy's Head on Boomerang when it isn't even a cartoon (neither is Fraggle Rock, but Boomerang still claims that Out of Jimmy's Head is their first live-action series). Anyway, I think I'll stay away from Boomerang until they drop all the new stuff and bring back all the Hanna Barbera Classics. (talk)18:37, 3 June 2008

Tooncast?
[edit]What's all this drivel about Boomerang being replaced? There hasn't been any announcements made by Time Warner nor has there been any advertising on either Cartoon Network or Boomerang that Tooncast will launch in Australia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.124.89.130 (talk) 07:09, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- Someone is inventing false information about that "Boomerang" will be replaced by "Tooncast", so is semi protected article--Csvh indu (talk) 18:49, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Move?

The result of the proposal was not moved. --BDD (talk) 16:49, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
- Boomerang (Australian TV channel) → Boomerang (Australia) – Unnecessary disambiguation, per the other articles in Category:Boomerang (TV channel). The latter already redirects to the former. Fortdj33 (talk) 02:24, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Moved from speedy rename
[edit]Strong oppose speedy renameThe Boomerang is from Australia (hunting weapon), so it would naturally be what is meant. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 02:38, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- Boomerang (Australia) already redirects here, so this article should be moved to that title. If you're concerned that people might be looking for the hunting weapon, a hatnote can be added to direct people to Boomerang (disambiguation). There you will see that the articles about the TV channel do not have those words in the title, because they are unnecessary. Fortdj33 (talk) 15:09, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- See also Cartoon Network (Australia), Adult Swim (Australia) and Toonami (Australia) for how this naming convention is usually used. Fortdj33 (talk) 17:12, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Survey
[edit]- Strong Oppose per my objection at speedy rename WP:RMTR. The boomerang is from Australia, using "(Australia)" as the disambiguator for the TV channel is one of the most ambiguous disambiguations you can possibly have, since it isn't even the most likely topic for a boomerang from Australia, which would be the actual primary topic of boomerang, the boomerang. Just because there's an incorrect redirect pointing here is the wrong reason to move the page. Instead the redirect should be corrected to point to the hunting weapon. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 04:57, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose The need to correctly disambiguate the link trumps any naming convention. When I see the title 'Boomerang (Australia), I think of the boomerang. The other channels mentioned by Fortdj33 don't have any other instances which could easily be confused. -- Harryboyles 05:14, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose The descriptor "(Australia)" does nothing to indicate what the topic of the article is. If Boomerang (Australia) redirects here, then the redirect needs to be fixed. -- Chuq (talk) 09:56, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose Boomerang is undoubtedly the primary topic but, as stated by 76.65.128.222, it's not a likely search term for the weapon. Boomerang (Australia) would best be a redirect to Boomerang (disambiguation). --AussieLegend (✉) 10:36, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose: The moment this RM fails we should change the redirect Boomerang (Australia) to Boomerang (disambiguation). Mark Hurd (talk) 02:10, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

- Boomerang (Thailand) → Boomerang (Thai TV channel)
- Boomerang (Turkey) → Boomerang (Turkish TV channel)
- Boomerang (UK & Ireland) → Boomerang (UK & Irish TV channel)
– Proposing to move these to the correct "by country" disambiguation, as per WP:NCBC (and WP:NCTV). --IJBall (contribs • talk) 05:07, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Note: Fixed malformed RM by altering the redirect Boomerang (Angola and Mozambique) to Boomerang (Portugal) and its proposed target to Boomerang (Portuguese TV channel). Please adjust if needed. Paine Ellsworth, ed. put'r there 12:25, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Note: At least one of these was moved from correct disambiguation (Boomerang (Australian TV channel)) in 2014 by Keenan202, a blocked socker. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 05:10, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Note, also, that Boomerang (Dutch TV channel) is currently correctly disambiguated. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 05:24, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support per WP:NCBC, these are individual channels which are part of the Boomerang network. Interestingly, Boomerang (TV channel) should really be at Boomerang (TV network) to reflect the proper hierarchy. -- Netoholic @ 08:17, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom and WP:NCBC. --Gonnym (talk) 09:27, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support per WP:NCBC and WP:NCTV. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 19:04, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support per all others. Also, many other channels, such as the various local copies of Nickelodeon, will need to be moved for the same reason. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 23:22, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yep – this RM proposal is just the first salvo in a longer-term project to do exactly that. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 00:07, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support: The current names are insufficiently precise to identify the topics, and Boomerang (Australia and New Zealand) should redirect to Boomerang. —BarrelProof (talk) 06:40, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support: I don't think there's much to be added here. ∰Bellezzasolo✡ Discuss 23:33, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
