Overhaul
[edit]I am planning a complete overhaul of this page. This topic is hugely important in biology as well as physics, and it deserves a good page. Please leave comments and make changes of your own.

I think it would be helpful in the introduction to the classical model to point out that the Boolean function maps a string of K Boolean state variables (B^k) onto a single Boolean state variable (B^1). Then it will be immediately clear that the state space is of size 2^N. Initially this is unclear to the reader. Also, where do the K input states come from at each time step? (take my confusion as an example of a reader without previous knowledge).77.20.56.163 (talk) 14:52, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
This article should be merged with NK_model. There's presently not even a link! --24.22.62.222 (talk) 21:49, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
I vote for not merge with NK_model. This is related to NK_model but a very separate topic in its own right. The NK_model is a higher level structure. Furthermore this topic has two aspects. (1) as a curious mathematical process, and (2) as a metaphor for genetic networks. These two topics should be firmly separated in the article. thus far the article gives none of the actual observations and mathematical analyses of the behaviors of these networks. I.e. space of attractors and bifurcations in the structure of that space as the parameter k is smoothly decreased from N down to 1. I too would plan to overhaul the page, but I don't know when I will get to my Notetaking on this subject. I'll try to take some stabs at it. Wikiskimmer (talk) 17:22, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
I vote for merging this article with the NK_model because the latter is actually a subtopic of the more general subject Boolean networks. Hou710 (talk) 21:00, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

Class rating
[edit]Can we bump up the class rating? As it is important in proggraming. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.139.132.190 (talk) 20:00, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
