[edit]Hello - I am writing this note as part of my official duties at the Library of Congress. The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) is part of the Library of Congress. This article describes "Books for the Blind" as if it's distinct from NLS when it is, in fact, a nickname for NLS. Further, NLS has a Wikipedia page, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Library_Service_for_the_Blind_and_Physically_Handicapped. Also, the numbers of books, magazines, and music titles in the "Books for the Blind" article are outdated. I'm looking for guidance on the most appropriate way to update this information. Would there be objections to someone from the Library of Congress updating the "Books for the Blind" article? Should readers of that article be encouraged to go to the NLS Wikipedia article? Thank you for any advice.

- I've rewritten this article to represent that "Books for the Blind" is a subset of the NLS program; it's still referred to by name in some NLS documents, see this NLS report from about 2010. I do agree that this article is, however, significantly cumulative with the main NLS article and a more-skilled Wikipedia user may want to merge the two.
