Project Assessment

[edit]

Why the focus on overseas stores? And why list only the countries they exist in, not the cities, as you've done for the US stores? I think this article could benefit from some serious expansion, particularly regarding the company's history. LordAmeth 10:50, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, do we know whether or not the company has any connection to the Edo period Kinokuniya merchant family, or to Kinokuni Bunzaemon specifically? LordAmeth 20:10, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

49th Street closing

Edgewater, NJ, location closed?

[edit]

As of today, the corporate site at http://www.kinokuniya.co.jp/english/contents/network04.html no longer lists the Edgewater, NJ, store. Can anyone confirm this? Ampermc (talk) 16:22, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think there's still a bookstore there, but it's no longer Kinokuniya. Franzeska (talk) 17:22, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Correct location of new Manhattan branch store?

[edit]

The article lists the new NYC store location as 41st Street, but the corporate site identifies it as Avenue of the Americas (otherwise known as sixth avenue). I believe it's between 41st and 42nd, across from Bryant Park, but I haven't been there, so I don't feel comfortable making a change to the main page. Ampermc (talk) 16:22, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is indeed across from the park. The cafe on the top floor has a nice view. I don't recall the street address offhand. Franzeska (talk) 17:21, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shibuya headquarters?

[edit]

This page, which should be authoritative, says the HQ is in Meguro-ku. -- Hoary (talk) 10:06, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
