I'll have this to you soon JAGUAR  16:11, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Initial comments

[edit]
  • "Officially, there is is no individual street called "Bond Street"; instead there are two individual sections" - the lead contradicts this sentence, saying that the individual sections are "not generally made in everyday usage"?
I've removed this, it seems to be waffling. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:41, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Old Bond Street is at the southern end between Piccadilly and Burlington Gardens. The northern section extends as far as Oxford Street" - this should mention that the northern section is New Bond Street

  • Any... particular reason for the American flag in the image of the History section?!
That's what was in the picture on Commons. Since only this article uses it, and in the context of the sign on the wall, I've cropped it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:41, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The jewellers Asprey originally opened in 1830 at Nos. 165–169 New Bond Street. The auctioneer Phillips was established in 1796 at No. 101 Bond Street, specialising in stringed instruments and sheet music" - minor, but I would have thought this to be in chronological order? Phillips opened before Asprey?

I've rewritten this to avoid any ambiguity. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:41, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The construction of Crossrail, which involves a new line between Bond Street and Tottenham Court Road stations, involves potential demolition of properties in nearby Hanover Square, some of which back onto New Bond Street" - is this ongoing or confirmed to happen in the future?
Good question. It was up in the air for years (demolishing anything in Mayfair is a huge taboo) but looking at a government report it appears that Boris has given the green light to it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:41, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It was in "See also" but I've moved it into prose instead. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:41, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is another well written article with very little points to make. I could only spot out a few minor prose issues, but most of them (if not all) are minor. This is also one of my favourite streets in London! JAGUAR  09:50, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jaguar: - I think all the points have been addressed, can you take another look? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:42, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for addressing them Ritchie, it seems good to go now. Overall a good read and well written article! JAGUAR  10:51, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again. I'm glad you didn't see what I said on Blofeld's page the other day :-/ Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:16, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
LOL I did see that! JAGUAR  17:55, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
