Confusion Over Origin of Name
[edit]There is a folk legend which says Bolsover, as it is pronounced phonetically, was named when a new teacher arrived on bicycle. According to the legend, the teacher's bicycle hit a rock, and he went, "Balls over," in the mud.
The English town Bolsover is named after is pronounced "Bowzer," in England. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.27.232.22 (talk) 18:38, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
