The result of the move request was: Withdrawn. That explains why we're not using the Census Bureau's spelling. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 08:16, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
Boissevain, Virginia → Boissevaine, Virginia – Is there some reason not to use the Census Bureau's spelling? Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 17:13, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
- *sigh* Of course, it would have to be Boissevaine, Virginia per WP:USPLACE. But we're probably using the current spelling because it's what's in the USGS's system, whereas it was apparently only ever defined in a census over 60 years ago. --BDD (talk) 22:27, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
- Didn't mean to leave off the ", Virginia" in the proposed title. I've added it. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 00:19, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose. Why should the article be moved based on one 60-year-old source? The town is called "Boissevain" now (see Google Maps) served by a post office called "Boissevain" and it has been called that for at least a century (according to VDOT maps, Rand McNally, &c.) — AjaxSmack 02:30, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose. All current reliable sources use the "Boissevain" spelling as the most common name. The old 1950 Census Bureau's spelling, when the community was still an CDP, is outdated. Zzyzx11 (talk) 05:32, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
