From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I know Bobby Trendy, I went to his high school, which is Saugus High school. You can look that up on the alumni page of our school if you need to. He didn't go to Valencia high school because it wasn't built until 1996. Also we don't live in Nothern California we are a part of L.A. County in Southern California. I apologize if this is the wrong place for this information, but I felt the need to correct the already false information contained in this article. I apologize for my lack of grammar and correct punctuation, I am on my phone typing this and trying to do so quickly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:CB70:3B70:A5:B03A:EE7D:72C0 (talk) 10:02, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Real Name

[edit]

I removed all negative comments on Bobby Trendy - they dont hold much weight, and aren't needed. -youblewmahmind69times

    • I understand, but I think it is important to mention Anna's true view of him because he is going on Fox News and CNN and claiming that the two of them were good friends. The clip SHOWS that she hates him which is very important. He shouldnt be allowed to misrepresent himself, and the clip proves it. Please keep it in.

Since there is no consensus about real name (Ray Muro or the more liklely possibility Bui Trang), I'm going to remove the sentence.

His real name is Robert Trienh.

- confirmed last night, in person. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.23.17.52 (talk) 22:30, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is either Bui Trang, RObert Trienh or the more likely Ray Muro.

Bui Trang does not sound correct as a Vietnamese name. Trang is a female name, and it is never a surname while Bui is always a surname. Trienh is not a Vietnamese surname. More than likely it is Trinh, a common Vietnamese surname. Whatever his birth name is, he has no talent other than shameless self promotion.

I disaggree, I think he's a brillant decorator. I also think the negative comments are untrue and uncalled for. They don't follow wiki format. The bio needs to be re-written properly without opinions. Especially negative ones. It looks like someone has just tried to piece together negative information. Linking up to sites that are based on opinions.

Since Smith's death I saw him interviwed on CNN and he said it seems to be more than a coincidence that the lawyer Howard K Stern was there when both Anna Nicole Smith and her son died. He must have some inside information.

The real information is as follows as I have verified it with a personal friend that told me on the promise of confidentiality so I cannot tell you the person. Bobby Trendy real name is Robert Anthony Trihn and he graduated from Valencia High 1991. His real birthday is 12/12/1972. Please message me privately if you wish to know further details but I know this to be truth. Contact Valencia High School alumni if you must! Thx. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Photolarry (talkcontribs) 21:58, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Biography of a Living Person - Statements by Cleo123

[edit]

I agree with the editor above. The article appeared to be very biased against Mr. Trendy. I have made some substantial changes, removing malicious remarks such as "He was fired from K-Mart." It would appear that some editors may have a personal vendetta against Mr. Trendy. I would caution them that Wikipedia is not a vehicle for harassment and the propagation of potentially libellous statements. I would suggest that they take their dispute with Mr. Trendy someplace other than the pages of Wikipedia. Please read WP:BLP & WP:NPOV. Cleo123 21:19, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1) Trendy's side of the story must be presented in order for the article to present a nuetral point of view. I, personally, think his remarks about Stern are outrageous and inflammatory; however, that is his defense for the discord seen on the show. In fairness, we must present his point of view.
2) The citation you provided is unclear. What clip? Which clip? The source you are providing is neither verifible nor accessible. This is petty over kill, and really unnecessary. Frankly, I think that the preceeding paragraph makes it very clear that there was discord between them. The fact that he did appear on the majority of the episodes, however, speaks to the fact that there was a substantial relationship between them.
3) Trendy appeared in THIRTEEN EPISODES. His was the ONLY ongoing plotline that I can see in the series. Can you name another ongoing plotline in season one? I don't think there is one.
4) The word homosexual is more proper than the term gay.
If you have some sort of vendetta against Mr. Trendy, I suggest you take it some place other than the pages of Wikipedia. Cleo123 17:23, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response By User 66

[edit]

-- All I am attempting to do is leave up actual footage from the anna nicole show. It seems like you have finally agreed and have left up the link. In response to your comment #2 above - since I am apparently not allowed to comment below you (though you did it to me) I am talking about this clip - which is currently citation 10. I simply moved it because it was out of context. I gave it a few words context like "in this clip". It's hardly an ad for amazon.com if that's your next argument. I don't think amazon.com needs advertisement on here. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GP3EQG/ref=atv_dp_ep_series/105-4018483-6346046?ie=UTF8&season=1

-- To your point # 3 - I inserted several other plotlines that were also "major" and did not involve bobby trendy summarized directly from the wiki entry on the anna nicole show. Therefore, we no longer need to refer to Bobby trendy as a major plotline. I don't think they belong in this entry, but since you insist on seeing other plotlines, there they are.

-- To your point # 4 - One does not act "flamboyantly homosexual" - that is a derogatory stereotype. Homosexuality is the attraction to a member of the same sex. One can act effeminate, not homosexual. The term "flamboyantly gay" is used on occasion, and "gay" has less of a clinical connotation than homosexual. Perhaps you are too heterosexual to understand these subtle differences, but they matter. By analogy, what would happen if I say that he "acted increasingly Asian"? Does that clear it up for you?

-- To your point # 1 - How many encyclopedia entries are filled with quotes about one's opinion of a friend of a friend? They don't belong here. You say you're "telling both sides of the story" but this is not the entry about anna nicole's death controversy. It doesn't belong here. How is it central to bobby's biography?

In general, it should be noted that nobody in the entire reality tv universe likes this person. I don't have a vendetta - he was listed as one of the most hated reality tv characters of all time like omarosa. What I said about his clients in 2000 is true. The article you posted was in present tense though the article was from 2000. You cannot claim someone's clients from 7 years ago are their current clients (unless you are trying to artificially make them look good). Also, as far as bobby being hated (which I never even posted per wiki's policy) This is not MY bias. Just look around:

http://www.tmz.com/2007/02/15/bobby-trendy-salutes-annas-genitalia/

I don't run these websites. I have never met him. I just don't like the fact he goes on Fox and CNN and makes little snide comments about Howard, so I thought I'd set the record straight by posting the clip to the anna nicole show. Bobby is quite hated for his behavior, failure to deliver, and attitude. He was hated by anna, and the clip makes it clear. They were not friends, despite his quote from Howard Stern that you posted.User:66 13:55, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion on Deletion of this Entry

[edit]

This is the second time this article has been nominated for deletion. The first was in 2006, and Bobby Trendy has not satisfied the notability criteria any more today than he has in the past. Just because Anna Nicole died does not make him more notable beyond the initial media storm that is happening. He is simply anna nicole smith's ex decorator who appeared on a dozen episodes of a TV show on a cable channel over 3 years ago. Nominated for deletion per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_%28people%29 User:66. 12:30, 21 February 2007 (UTC) We can discuss this here.[reply]

I disagree, there are many articles about fictional figures in television and not only is Trendy a real person he has notability besides the show through his occupation. Whether one agrees with his style or not. With the current focus on Smith this is even more apparent - I went to her page to see if the case that went to the Supreme Court would continue on behalf of her daughter, then saw a link to this page and remebered him and wanted more info so came here and the first thing you see is a nomination for deletion from an editor who didn't even bother to sign in.--Wowaconia 18:06, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree too, he is becoming a household name. He's had many more articles written on him by third parties. So keep the article, but someone should upload a picture(s), I couldn't figure out how to do it. --9dbfg Tuesday, Feb 27, 2007

Age

[edit]

Was he born in 1975 as the article suggests? The article also mentions that he graduated from high school in 1991, so given that information, either he graduated a year or two early, or he shaves a couple of years off his age. And thoughts/opinions/input??? - J

  • Bobby himself claims to be 18. Even though there's no possible way it's true, it should be worth mentioning since that's his "official" stance on the matter.Alcy 23:06, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks Alcy. Hmmm, when did he claim to be 18? If it was recently, then he had to be 14-ish at the time The Anna Nicole Show was produced. I'm almost willing to bet that in 10 years he'll claim the show came out before he was born... No reason for my little blurb really, I just find what he says to be so incredibly odd that it ends up being funny if I think about it enough (not that there's any reason to do so but still). Hmmm... If he did graduate from Valencia High School, then there should be some kind of alumni association that may be able to dig up a photo/senior portrait(?). I'm curious now. I'll look into it and get back to inquiring minds. ;) - J
Alcy, I assume that you are refering to the TMZ article about "Bobby's" doll line. I think it's pretty safe to say that Trendy's my space posting regarding "his" age and height are either A) a joke or B) in reference to the doll. FYI - I have removed the statement about a doll line. The TMZ article is pretty clear that they are only speculating based upon Bobby's My Space page. Neither strikes me as a "reliable" source. Cleo123 21:52, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Not just the TMZ article...he's said it himself on his Buzznet and Myspace pages (though his Myspace now says 19, his Buzznet says 18). Last year he claimed to be 16 though, his claim on the matter changes frequently. Alcy 08:12, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should we put this in?

Review

[edit]

I am leaving in the article in the state that IP User 66 has left it for the moment. I have asked an administrator to take a look at the article, which I believe has become heavily biased against Trendy contrary to WP:BLP. I have also suggested that the article be locked from anonymous IP editors, as there appears to be an ongoing problem with the insertion of vandalism and unsourced POV statements. Sources, sources, sources

[edit]

As someone who has accidentally got involved in this article, can I point out that again that statements, especially contentious statements - and even more especially in an article on a living person - must be backed up by reliable sources, and when sources are given, then the article should reflect them. For example, there is a source, albeit not a good one, given for his date of birth being somewhere around the end of the 1970's. Edits that put his date of birth in the 1960's are therefore in conflict with the source - and I should point out, are obviously in conflict with other sources used in the article. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 00:57, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response: Thank you for responsibly discussing the Wikipedia policy of sources. There have been edits lately placing his birth year as 1972 or 1990, but none of these people making the edits can give any source whatsoever for these birth years. The IMDB source I gave clearly states Trendy's birth date as May 22, 1979, and the NNDB site I gave as a source states the 1979 birth year as well, but I have had people change my edits. Edits have also given his birth name as Gnock Yu Gaang Muro Tranhh, again without a source, and with the user Causeloss ridiculously accusing me of vandalism in his September 2 edit. I gave an ACTUAL SOURCE with his name being Raymond John Muro, so I am not "vandalizing" the page by editing it to reflect what a SOURCE says. As for some editing his birthplace to Vietnam, the sources I have given say Valencia, California; and finally some have given his high school graduation year as 1989, even though my NNDB source that I gave says 1999. I'm tired of these irresponsible edits to my work. Unless these people provide sources, they should not be editing. --24.119.67.199 (talk) 00:21, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like this page is a target for sneaky vandals. I happened to find it while doing some RC patrols and took the liberty of removing a whole lot of (for lack of a better word) crap. The DOB was cited as 1991 along with his birthplace being cited as Vietnam. I've yet to find any reliable sources that state his DOB and birthplace and considering that the subject keeps claiming different ages, I doubt I will. Even though IMDb and NNDB aren't considered reliable by Wikipedia standards, I reckon both are probably right and changed the DOB to 1979. Same goes for the birthplace. I also found the entire article be a bit of a mess (no sections, no mention of early life, etc) so I added some needed bits. Someone more familiar with the subject should probably elaborate more on those aspects as I basically only rewrote a passable version since this is a BLP. I'm also going to watchlist the page so the vandalism can be kept in check. Pinkadelica (talk) 07:57, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where is any source for the claims that Trendy is a doctor AND a lawyer, or either one? Typically the alma mater(s) of people with these credentials are listed.76.124.164.80 (talk) 22:30, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

DOB

[edit]

This changing of the date of birth is getting very, very old. Unless someone can provide an actual reason for changing this or can provide another reliable source to dispute the present DOB, changing it for no good reason constitutes as vandalism. The DOB needs to be fixed/changed. If you do the math, he would have been 14yrs old at the time of the Anna Nicole Smith show and it is obvious this was not the case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.88.13.182 (talk) 16:33, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

website

[edit]

I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like the "official website" that is listed is actually just a parked domain. It doesn't have any information about him or his company or make any claim to be that website. The only thing on the website is a search box and a lot of related search links that you can click on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.204.93.54 (talk) 03:48, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

[edit]

The subject requested in a message to OTRS that we use File:Bobby Trendy.jpg rather than any other photo that we have (currently) on Wiki(p|m)edia. I told the subject that the ultimate choice is up to the community over which stays (I handled the email and uploaded the photo for the user and put it on this article but it was removed), but I personally think we should lend a bit more leniency to following what the person requested. Re: COI - A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject

[edit]

The tagging editor of this complaint did not initiate a discussion to support the COI tag from June 2015, so there is no discussion on the supposed issue that exists on the talk page. This indicates that the maintenance template is not supported, and in accordance to Wikipedia's instructions on the circumstances under which to remove this sort of maintenance template, I am proceeding to do so. I'm disheartened that this complaint has shown back up because i am not connected to the subject. I am simply a media fanatic who became aware of Trendy because of reality TV, and between that and 90's rap music, I take to Wikipedia because it is a place for me to put all this seemingly useless pop-culture information to good use.
