Confusion with another Robert E. Hutchins
[edit]It has been stated that Bobby "Wheezer" Hutchins served in the 31st Tank Battalion and received both a Bronze Star Medal and Silver Star Medal while serving in Europe. This is mistaken. The Robert E. Hutchins who served with the 31st and who was awarded the medals was someone else. That Robert Hutchins survived the war. This is not to diminish the bravery and sacrifice of Bobby "Wheezer" Hutchins, who valiantly enlisted in the war effort and tragically lost his life in training. Rather it is to properly credit the other Robert E. Hutchins for his own service in the war.
Move request
[edit]This article has been renamed from Bobby "Wheezer" Hutchins to Bobby Hutchins as the result of a move request.

Band Weezer named for this character
[edit]According to an interview with Conan O'Brien, released 10/09/2022, Rivers Cuomo of the Band Weezer attributes Wheezer as the namesake of his band. According to Rivers, Cuomo's father nicknamed him Wheezer becuase "Wheezer was the cool one".
