Love with Royals and Bulls
[edit]As a player, Bob Love was a consumate offensive small-forward. He moved quickly without the ball, then was cat-quick with a deft shooting touch with it. The Cincinnati Royals never knew what they had in Love, as they often did with many players they drafted. Love was one of several players --- Larry Siegfried, Flynn Robinson, Walt Wesley, Jon McGlocklin, Mel Daniels were among others --- the Royals let slip thru their fingers. The Royals were very close to an NBA championship in 1965. Somehow, they blew it. They even jeered Love as a black guy who stuttered. Love proved his talent when given the chance in Chicago. Teammates like Chet Walker, Jerry Sloan, and Norm Van Lier gave Love a chance to star for a contender while the Royals, his old team, sank. The Bulls were always a guy or two away in the tougher Western Conference of the early 70s NBA. Had the Bulls been an East Conference team, they might have supplanted Boston or New York to make the NBA Finals. As it was, he still came to have a great NBA career. Fans of the Micheal Jordan era-Bulls need to recall these older Bull teams, and stars like Love, and where they came from.
Triva and Middle Name
[edit]After reviewing WP:Trivia, I deceided to put the section back in. The facts are important but relatively disparate. So, at this point, I think it is best to leave them as a list.
Secondly, I put back the man's middle name. This is not in debate. The man has a middle name and it is one the title of his book which is referenced in trivia section. --BlindEagletalk~contribs 15:33, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- You need to put a citation in the text to indicate where you got the information from. How do you know the middle name used on the book wasn't a "nom de plume"? You need to find better evidence.
- You obviously haven't read the book. "Bob Love" is his penname.
- Your defence of the trivia section goes against WP guidelines - you need to incorporate the "trivia" into the text, or delete it.139.48.81.98 15:35, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- Respectfully, I don't agree. WP:Trivia is a guidline not a policy. Secondly, Triva not to remove is specifcally noted within the guideline. --BlindEagletalk~contribs 15:40, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
