Bo Bruce's Ancestry
[edit]Bo's status as the daughter of a British Peer cannot be ignored nor omitted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.148.68.189 (talk) 9:11 am, 5 July 2012, Thursday (1 year, 30 days ago) (UTC−4)
- I moved the above comment into its own section as it was under the boxes. I just finished adding in her connection to the peerage in the introduction. An interview with her in the Telegraph just came out today & was gold for a good reference & some additional facts about her personal life, straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Since it wasn't extensive info, I didn't add a *personal life* section, just put it in the intro. Everything after the 2nd footnote is from that article, so I footnoted it at the end of all the info I got from there. Didn't see any need to over-cite with a footnote after every sentence. Hope it's clear it was all from one source. ScarletRibbons (talk) 07:53, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- It's true it is a very major part of Bruce's identity and a good addition for the article. However, the lede intro was the wrong place to put it. I've moved her family background info to a 'Background' section. Though the Telegraph article (and others) have very comprehensively covered her family issues, any controversial or personal claims (drug abuse, criminal convictions, family feuds etc.) need citing directly, so I've placed an inline citation after each of them. If there are any other non-tabloid newspapers that have written about her background it'll probably be a good idea to add those sources too, just to show we have cast iron proof! - I have removed details about the personal lives of family members as this information should be included in their own articles, not this one - I have checked the individual pages of both family members mentioned and this information is missing, so it would be more appropriate to add it there. I have also removed the reference to Bruce being asked to leave school, as the reference does not actually confirm this and several sources state that this may not actually be the case? - I'm fine with having the Telegraph info relocated within the article, Sionk, & in hindsight perhaps I should've done the inline citations rather than at the end of the paragraph to make it a bit clearer as to source. Grace, in reference to leaving school, the Telegraph article says: Her memories of school are fond – “because my reality was not OK, I made sure that school was a riot” – but she was asked to leave aged 17, because of discipline problems. “I went too far with drugs and alcohol and I had this terrible accident [reportedly a drug overdose at a party] that really terrified me,” Bruce explains. “I woke up in A&E and I was completely traumatised. School thought I was a drug addict and an alcoholic and I wasn’t, but I didn’t want to be there any more.” After a stint at the Priory Clinic in London, she was sent to rehab in Arizona, where she began to concentrate on her music. So I think this info is indeed confirmed & relevant to the subject, as is the info about her drug use & rehab stints that I originally included. I also would think her estrangement from her father & his 2nd wife, what with the restraining order & the caution for damaging his car, is relevant & properly sourced. Not sure why you would think it warranted removal when the info is from a reputable source & is a personal interview with the artist? ScarletRibbons (talk) 19:35, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

NPOV issues
[edit]Rephrased and copyedit much of the material added by Phoenix Artists and added some further references. Her website is down, most info comes through her FB page. It appears that she mostly does vocal work for dance/trance records at the moment. If and when a second album has more details the last section 'Return' can be expanded. Addiction issues added as they appear to be widely reported, esp. the 2013 exhaustion issue. Karst (talk) 14:16, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
