Ranges of Bluetooth Devices by Version - Table

Maybe a small point, but: the last edit before mine replaced "see table at right" with "see table above." The trouble is, the first is correct for viewing on a PC, the second is right when viewing on a phone. I replaced both with a reference to the caption, which should be the same on any platform. Uses / Maximum Speed Table

The maximum speed column in the (un-named) table in the "Uses" section has values way larger than anything I can find elsewhere and that seem to contradict other number in the overall page. For example version 4.0 is claimed to be "25 Mbits/s" but all other references I can find (elsewhere and in this page) say 1 MBit/sec. Similarly for Version 5 (claimed "50 Mbits/s" vs "2 Mbits/s" everywhere else). Any idea what is going on? Unless there is some obvious support for the 25 and 50 values I suggest changing them to be consistent with reality.

This is my very first post, so I'm unsure of (a) the etiquette and (b) the formatting.

The answer is AMP (Alternative Mac and Phy) but simply putting in higher numbers makes no real sense, and I doubt AMP gets much use anyway, and isn't really "Bluetooth" either William M. Connolley (talk) 08:23, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

The data rates should go in somewhere. The real answers are 2.1 Mbits/sec for BT2.1 and upwards, using BR/EDR. BLE has a lower rate which I forget for the moment. The higher range for BT5 is only for BLE long range (BLR) which comes at the expense of lower date rate, of course William M. Connolley (talk) 08:33, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

BTLE Mixed Mode case unclear

Neither the main article (nor the seprarate sub-article on LE ) explains what happens to power levels when Classic and Smart devices operate on the same PAN? TheXanadu (talk) 13:06, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

BREDR and BLE are separate. They can't be part of the same PAN; well, a device capable of doing both could have BREDR and BLE links up, but those would be separate. Their power control doesn't interact William M. Connolley (talk) 20:17, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Wi-Fi

"Bluetooth high speed is based on Wi-Fi" In what sense? Do both devices need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi router? Do they form an ad-hoc network? Can a computer talk to a Wi-Fi router and a bluetooth HS device at the same time, using the same radio? ... 17 September 2016 ...‎ 71.167.64.222 (+445)

No no no they do not need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi Router. Just as long you are in a 50 yd or 150 ft AlexanderCabble2 (talk) 21:21, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
