Misc
[edit]this article needs less band and more of the other activities. Pacman 21:25, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Is MTV making a Laugna Beach style show based off teens who go to BVW?Moonraker0022 07:40, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- I can't find anything about this with a quick Google search. Furthermore, I went to BVW and still sort of know a few people there and I've heard nothing about it. (That doesn't necessarily mean it's not true, of course, but it definitely doesn't belong in the article until someone can find a source for it.) -Chickencha 05:33, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Attention Chickencha: moon is joking! west kids are stereotyped as being the rich kids, just like BV is sterotyped as being "White trash from stilwell"
This article definatly feels like it was ripped from the website, especially the band part. Pacman 07:25, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
The external links seem to be vandalized. Should we fix that or just continue giving students access to restricted content somehow? WGarrettCombs (talk) 05:32, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
I went to west and played sports their, and not even a quarter of them are mentioned here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.26.21.120 (talk) 00:55, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]- Policy Debate
The Blue Valley West policy debate team has consistently ranked among the top programs in Kansas, and has been home to some of the top debaters in the nation. In 2010, the 4-speaker State Team consisting of Danny Richey, Mackenzie Oatman, Rohit Kundurthi, Danielle Sartain, Nimish Mittal and Nikki Kagan won Blue Valley West's first state championship under Blue Valley Wests first and only coach, Mark Kapfer. At the 2010 2-speaker State Tournament, Junior Ideen Saiedian and Sophomore Chris Birzer took 2nd place. At the Catholic Forensics League Grand National Tournament, Danny and Mackenzie went undefeated in preliminary rounds and eventually lost in octafinals. Chris and Ideen lost one round in preliminary rounds and eventually lost in Finals. At the National Forensics League Grand National Tournament, the combined efforts of Danny, Mackenzie, Chris, and Ideen earned them and Blue Valley West a "School of Excellence" award in debate, as they both made it deep into elimination rounds. Prior to 2010, Blue Valley West has finished 2nd at the 4-speaker state tournament 4 times, and taken 3rd twice.
- Forensics
Blue Valley West's forensics program is one of the most competitive in Kansas. For years, they have had multiple national qualifiers and places at State. In 2010, Blue Valley West qualified two teams (Owen MacDonald-Zach Hills and Spencer Yeamans-Jared Nelson) to Catholic Forensics League Grand National Tournament.
