Yes, and the fact that it was widely reported that Blue Peter was already considering a card system had no influence on the kid who wrote in, obviously. Incidentally, the image is not of a Blue Peter badge. --Bonalaw 17:43, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Purple Badge

[edit]

Released from September 2006? What on Earth is a purple badge anyway?

Gold Badge

[edit]

Conspicuous by their absence, who are the Gold Badge winners? Patrick Moore is one - but who are the others? The Gold Badge should have its own entry. (I don't know who the person is who wrote this).

To be honest, I can't figure out exactly what the page is really about. Is it a Children's Television Program? If so, in what Country? How long has it been in existance? What exactly (and how) are these kids taught and is there any similarity to other organizations in the United Stateslike the Boy Scouts (or other organizations of recognition) in other Countries)? --leahtwosaints (talk) 23:08, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope I can clear this up for you - Blue Peter is a childrens television program that has been running on the BBC scince the 1960's, the show has achieved somewhat of a cult status over here in the UK, and this article is about the badges that people can win on the show, and the presenters themselves wear. I am not sure what to compare it to in America, but if you want more information, you can read the Blue Peter article, or ask someone in the wikiproject BBC. Thanks! I keep having to force myself to remember in the pages I contribute to, that my country(countries?) of origin aren't the standard for the world and that everybody who knows any English will have any idea what I'm talking about. It wasn't until I began editing the wikipedia that I even learned of things like the OBE in the United Kingdom, and much more! I'm mentioning it here, so others might evaluate organizations, culture, and lots of things we take for granted that "everybody knows". lol! --leahtwosaints (talk) 22:12, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Badges for sale

[edit]

To be honest I think this bit could be trimmed a lot, maybe to a paragraph or two. The badges have been around for 45 years and yet half the article talks about one event that happened two years ago. It did get a fair bit of attention but I don't think it needs to be in such detail. BillyH 20:43, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Somewhat slow, but noticing that the main Blue Peter article had rather a lot on badges, I've expanded this article a lot, and reduced the "Badges for sale" section at the same time. It may bear further trimming, but it no longer over-balances the article. - IMSoP (talk) 18:49, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Diamond Badge

[edit]

Blue Peter have said that there's a new badge coming out, but where's the reference that it's a diamond badge?

R Dahl

[edit]

/* Main badges */ I think there is confusion between blue plaque and blue badge as Dahl was dead at this point and there is no source of him getting a gold badge on this year. Perhaps the named program date should be given for winners in the source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.249.23.158 (talk) 03:08, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ru Peter Badge

[edit]

RuPaul's Drag Race UK (aired on BBC3) gives each episode's winner(s) the Ru Peter badge, as a spoof on the Blue Peter badge. I think there's room for that in this entry here, what do you think? I didn't know under what section I could put it, perhaps "In Media"? Illang (talk) 17:21, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
