Blue Dragon Children's Foundation

[edit]

Just added this to the disambiguation page. There's no article for them at present, but I will try and get one online in the next day or so, then wikilink from here. IainP (talk) 14:05, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blue Dragon (Anime)

[edit]

Shouldn't Blue Dragon (Anime) be added?

The result of the move request was: Pages moved as per consensus.usernamekiran(talk) 19:50, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

– This is a procedural move request per my closing statement at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2017 August 24#Blue Dragon. This discussion is for moving the video game article to a title with the disambiguator "(video game)" and to move the disambiguation page to the base name per WP:DABNAME. I am neutral in this discussion. Steel1943 (talk) 15:09, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Note: I put this move discussion here instead of Blue Dragon since I linked Talk:Blue Dragon (disambiguation) in my edit summary to refer to this discussion when I reverted moves to restore the former status quo. Steel1943 (talk) 15:14, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, if this page move is fulfilled as proposed, "Talk:Blue Dragon" has subpages that need to be moved as well. Steel1943 (talk) 15:19, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging editors involved in the discussions and moves thus far (to let them know the discussion has moved here): AngusWOOF, Gryffindor and Masem. Steel1943 (talk) 15:14, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support moves (that is, making the disambiguation page the "main topic"). In light of the other topics that are possible hits for "blue dragon", the video game doesn't have clear, obvious position as the main topic, and moreso considering the long-term picture. --MASEM (t) 16:50, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment in the process of the previous bold moves and reverts, many of the links that were going to Blue Dragon are now going to the anime article, most of which concern voice actors and connecting them to Blue Dragon (anime) which another editor had boldly split off in June 2017. The (manga) redirect has been around since 2009 so that hasn't been affected as much. With (anime) split off, the Blue Dragon franchise article is more of a video game article and loses its notability as primary topic. I want to make sure the video game wikiproject is okay with the split as the article prior to the split had passed GA. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:13, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment it could be argued that Azure Dragon might be the primary topic, considering how all these novel titles on the dab page make references to it. Is the video game Blue Dragon a reference to the Azure Dragon? On the flip side I think the sports teams just like the idea of a dragon that's colored blue and not specifically the Asian mythology of the blue dragon. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:49, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've cleaned up the dab page entries so that "The Blue Dragon", "BlueDragon" and "Azure Dragon" are listed up front, and the rest can be allocated to sections. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:51, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nevermind, I misread it in passing yesterday. Support - I doubt the video game is the primary topic of all uses of the term "Blue Dragon", especially considering the series has become dormant in recent years. Sergecross73 msg me 12:37, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, fresh addition to the dab. Steel1943 (talk) 14:55, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@AngusWOOF: As an aside, Cardiff Blue Dragons (who, FWIW, are the first thing that comes to my mind on thinking of "Blue Dragon", along with the D&D creature - I'd never heard of the video game and its spin-offs) combined the blue of Cardiff City F.C. ("The Bluebirds"), with whom they used to share a ground, and a Welsh Dragon (which is usually red). Celtic rather than Asian mythology. Narky Blert (talk) 17:53, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
