Trying to fix the Certifications table

[edit]

On the Certifications table, for the Mexico citation, it says that it is missing a title. The formatting is odd and I can't figure out how to do it the right way.JIK1975 (talk) 15:37, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • The B-side is not sourced; if it is from one of the releases listed, then add a track listing section
  • The comma before the album's title should be the only one in the first sentence
  • The writing/production sentence should be the second sentence instead
  • "It was released as" → "The song was released as"
  • "after a demo version" → "shortly after a demo version"
  • "Musically, it is an" → "It is an"
  • "part of its instrumentation." → "part of the instrumentation."
  • Mention about the lyrical meaning of the song in a sentence after the above one
  • "positive reviews. Music critics praised the track's production, lyrics" → "generally positive reviews from music critics, who praised the production. Some complimented its lyrics"
  • Shouldn't the US position be mentioned first per Pink's nationality? If so, merge it with the commercially part instead
  • "topping the charts in" → "The song topped the charts in" if the other position is moved
  • "Scotland while peaking within the top ten" → "Scotland, while peaking within the top-10" per MOS:NUM
  • "top-ten single on" → "top-10 single on"
  • Write out notable certifications like the ones in Australia and Canada after the chart positions
  • Remove "for "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)"" in the music video part since the accompaniment implies this
  • "and Beautiful Trauma World Tour" → "and the Beautiful Trauma World Tour"

All  Done

Background and development

[edit]
  • "While conceiving her album, The Truth About Love, Pink" → "While conceiving The Truth About Love, Pink"
  • Remove comma after fourth studio album
  • The video sourcing the above content won't play due to Adobe flash player no longer being supported; is this my laptop or does it not work in general?
Adobe is dead for good and for everyone, which is a major pain in the ass. I could replace the video sourcing with a direct sourcing to the video, but the thing is that it won't get played on the archived link. Haven't been able to find a YouTube alternative either. What should I do? - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 21:26, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If the first link is considered a reliable source, then use that for a replacement. --K. Peake 05:46, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Done
  • "developed from a" → "was developed from a"
  • "punk-rock friends"." → "punk-rock friends" while they sang along." per the source
  • "in one day." → "over the course of one day in 2012." to be specific
  • "considered titling the track" → "considered titling it"
  • "bracketed "One Last Kiss" to avoid" → "bracketed "One Last Kiss" to avoid a"

All  Done except where noted

Composition and lyrical interpretation

[edit]

All  Done

Release

[edit]
  • Retitle to Release and reception, adding the below section here
  • "from The Truth About Love and confirmed that" → "from The Truth About Love, confirming that"
  • To avoid being too wordy, don't write 2012 at the end of the sentence too because we already know that was the year from earlier
In this case, should I remove all the 2012s from the other sentences as well? - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 20:08, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, the removal of the year at the end here is because you mentioned it earlier in this very sentence. --K. Peake 05:46, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Pipe leaked to Internet leak
  • Isn't "pushed forward" more appropriate than "pushed up"?
  • "on Pink's website" → "via Pink's website"
  • "the following day through" → "the following day, through"
  • "distributed it to" → "distributed the song to UK"
  • The release being delayed in the country is not mentioned by any of the sources
It is not mentioned, but it's kinda obvious, since nowhere else was the song released so late. Should I remove the sentence and just keep the info regarding the UK release? - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 20:08, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, keeping all of it should be fine actually since it's not OR when the following statement backs the sentence up.--K. Peake 05:46, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All  Done except where noted

Critical reception

[edit]
  • Place this below the release info in the section, starting at a para below; I think the img can be at the start of the section since it will still overlap with the first load of reviews and makes decreasing reception to two paras easier for flow
  • "received positive reviews from" → "was met with generally positive reviews from"
  • Pipe single to Single (music) and remove the comma after the term
  • "Marc Hogan of Spin applauded the song's" → "Hogan applauded the song's"
  • "that it contained" → "that it contains"
  • Merge the second reviews para with the first one
I merged other reviews so the paragraphs would look somewhat equal - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 20:19, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "rated the song" → "awarded a rating of"
  • "form and an" → "form, and an"
  • Remove excess space after "So What"
  • It is already clear that the song was being reviewed at the time of the album's release, so change the upon release part
  • "Writing for The Atlantic, Jonathan Bogart spotlighted" → "Bogart spotlighted"
  • Remove comma after 2004 song
  • Digital Spy should not be italicised
  • Add something like "In a mixed review," at the start of the last sentence to separate it somewhat, as the other reviews are positive

All  Done

Commercial performance

[edit]
  • Mention the digital sales the week of its debut per the source
  • "her 12th top-ten" → "her 12th top-10" per MOS:NUM
  • "at number one on the" → "at number one on the US"
  • Why are the refs not in corresponding order for the Mainstream Top 40, Adult Pop Songs and Dance Club Songs charts?
  • "peaked at number four and was certified 3× Platinum" → "peaked at number four, and was certified triple platinum"
  • Add MC in brackets for Music Canada
  • "of 240,000 units." → "of 240,000 units in Canada."
  • "the UK Singles Chart issued for" → "the UK Singles Chart issue dated"
  • "400,000 certified units." → "400,000 certified units in the United Kingdom."
  • "in Hungary[48] and peaked within the top ten" → "in Hungary,[48] alongside peaking within the top 10"
  • "certified 4× Platinum" → "certified quadruple platinum"
  • "and received a platinum" → "and later received a platinum"

All  Done

Music video

[edit]
  • Remove wikilinks on California
  • Wikilink music video
  • Wikilink black and white
  • "It premiered on" → "It premiered via"
  • The part about her going through the trees is not backed up
  • Shouldn't you write that she gets a lift instead of that she goes home, per the source?
  • "watches through the window as many" → "watches as many"
  • The suit and hair are not sourced
  • Only Pink laughing is sourced, not her dancing cheerfully
  • The last sentence of the para does not appear to be sourced -  Done Added another source. - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 20:57, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Spin's Marc Hogan described the video" → "Hogan described the video"
  • "wrote that video" → "wrote that the music video"
  • MTV News should not be italicised

All  Done and removed unsourced info.

Live performances and cover version

[edit]
  • Retitle to Live performances and other usage, as the song was used for a live cover
  • Img looks good!
  • "The first live" → "Pink's first live" to be specific
  • "small platform and played on" → "small platform, playing on"
  • Shouldn't you mention what Pink herself wore during the performance?  Done Added info
  • Are you sure "reprised" is the correct term when the song was not performed repeatedly on the shows and they were only on the same day?
  • "On September 14, she performed" → "On September 14, 2012, Pink performed" per this being a new para
  • It is not sourced that the song was performed on The View  Done added the book source as well
  • "On November 13, Pink performed the song on" → "On November 13, 2012, Pink performed the song for"
  • "at music festivals including" → "at music festivals, including"
  • "penultimate track on the tour" → "penultimate track of the tour's"
  • Remove comma after encore
  • The Summerfest performance appears to only be sourced as Afrobeat; maybe reword the dancehall-reggae version part a bit?  Done Added the Afrobeat part
  • Also, why is among others at the end of the sentence when there is no citation saying various other performances were like these?  Done removed
  • "on the setlist for" → "on the setlist of Pink's"
  • "with ten background dancers." → "with 10 background dancers." per MOS:NUM
  • "festival held in" → "festival, held in"
  • Merge the last para with the above one since it's only one sentence
  • Pipe Wade "Unique" Adams to Unique (Glee)
  • "The Role You Were Born to Play" title is not sourced  Done Added source as well

All  Done

Track listing

[edit]
  • Shouldn't you add this section since there were numerous releases?

 Done Added section

Credits and personnel

[edit]
  • Use sub-headings instead of sub-sections  Done changed
  • Shouldn't you write mix engineer instead of engineered for mix and do the same with the one below but add the word assistant first?
This is how it stands in both CD single and album credits. - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 17:33, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Should I add credits for the B-side single as well? - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 17:33, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I did not know that and don't add the other credits, as that's pointless if no new info is provided. --K. Peake 05:46, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Charts

[edit]

Weekly charts

[edit]
  • Pipe Hot 100 Airplay to Top 100 Brasil
  • The Finland Download peak is not displayed by the source
This is the link that the source should display, but it redirects to this. What should I do? - Gabrielflorin01 (talk) 17:40, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Add a ref for this chart instead of using the template and try to use an archive for the correct link; if this does not work, you might have to remove the chart which isn't too much of a problem due to it only being a download one. --K. Peake 05:46, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wikilink RCA Records on ref 1 and cite as publisher instead, plus does the video not work or is it a flash player issue?

It is overlinked on cases that are not part of the template, take the year-end charts refs for instance. --K. Peake 05:46, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
