Rail trail
[edit]The proposed rail trail is listed on List of rail trails and links to this page. If the trail is constructed it may be appropriate to to combine both the historical rail line and the new rail trail in a single article and redirect "Bloomingdale Trail" to here. 01:17, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
References
[edit]This reference (August Derleth, The Milwaukee Road, 2002) was listed in the References section but no information on the page cited this being the source. The specific information from this source should be appropriately cited. Or, the source can be placed in the external links section, however, the book does not exist in its entirety online. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevevance (talk • contribs) 05:23, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
East end
[edit]The article currently states (using the past and subjunctive) that "At the east end, a trailhead would be created at theChicago River." Looking at the 606's own web page, map, FAQs etc., I can find no mention of the river, which is about 8 short-blocks and across rail tracks and an expressway from the east end of the trail.Kdammers (talk) 19:44, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- Good catch! Some of the early materials from Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail called for an extension to the river (see the map at the bottom of this article and this brochure). The Bloomingdale right-of-way once included a crossing over the Union Pacific tracks east of the expressway, but I don't know whether that was removed recently, since the publication of those materials, or the Friends' map was in error. Nomenclature & inclusion
[edit]Can someone find a source that says that (or not) "606" includes related parks whereas "Bloomingdale" refers only to the elevated trail? Kdammers (talk) 03:14, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
Fantastic history here
[edit]There's a really great history here: http://forgottenchicago.com/features/the-bloomingdale-line/
and I'm sure that a lot of images could be found based on the sources too. Victor Grigas (talk) 17:21, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

Atlanta
[edit]The Wikipedia article on the trail in Atlanta says it is (or will be?) 22 miles long, which would make it longer than the 606. Maybe there are some distinctions, though, that allow for the 606 to retain its title as the longest? `23:04, 13 August 2022 (UTC) Kdammers (talk) 23:04, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
