Zhao's nationality
[edit]Hi @Revirvlkodlaku:, I can't find any sources that say Zhao is a US citizen. This webpage calls her a "Paris-born Chinese national", although I am not sure if it is reliable or where the biography comes from. Also, this post on her Instagram account implies that she is not a US citizen, at least when she started writing:
I was in America, dreaming of creating the very thing that built me — books. I was a foreign citizen buried under visa paperwork and uncertain which side of the ocean my future rested in. “Will I need a visa to be published in the United States?” I thought, and then: “It’ll never happen anyway.”
Without good sources either way, I think it would be best to remove any mention of her nationality and simply explain what we can support with sources (born in Paris, lived in Beijing, moved to USA). Astaire (talk) 17:41, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Astaire, you make a valid point. I was going on the assumption that if someone moves to the US at age 18, they then become a citizen, but that's not guaranteed. I'll make the change accordingly. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 23:50, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
