I did a grammar edit on the article since I felt it was easier to fix its few flaws in this regard myself than to bring them up here. I just want some clarification on a few points, and other than these, the article is good to go.

  • What does "critical appraisal" mean? Even the worst of albums receive appraisal from critics. Did you mean "critical praise"?
    • That was a reminiscent of the previous main editor.
  • When did the MusiCares event happen?
  • What does it mean to "casually ask someone" something? (when Vig asked Dave Grohl to perform on the album)
  • Vig opted to focus on the production duties and leave the drums to guest musicians, whom he considered better at the instrument than him. He also played more guitars on the album, which he found liberating.<ref name=radar>{{cite web|url=http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/6-career-defining-records-of-butch-vig-211529/7|title=6 career defining records of Butch Vig|work=[[Rhythm (music magazine)|Rhythm magazine]]|date=2009-07-01|accessdate=2013-01-29}}</ref><ref name=gc/> As a result, drummer [[Matt Walker (drummer)|Matt Walker]] played on several tracks on the album,<ref name=diary29/> while Meldal-Johnsen played bass.<ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.garbage.com/news/journal.php?id=20040906|archiveurl=http://web.archive.org/web/20071112004944/http://www.garbage.com/news/journal.php?id=20040906|archivedate=2007-11-12 | title=09.06.04 Studio Diary #24 |author=Manson, Shirley | publisher=Garbage.com | accessdate=2007-06-21}}</ref>
This is a problematic chunk. Vig doesn't say he played more guitars rather than drums as breath of fresh air in the source named "radar". It seems the sources are slightly mismatched with the facts they are said to present in this passage. Just needs to be tidied-up a bit. Also, it has already been mentioned that Dave Grohl played on one track, but it bears repeating after a statement like, "…leave the drums to guest musicians…".
  • "Boys Wanna Fight" criticizes governments
…anything specific she criticizes here? Earlier in the article it's said it's about the Iraq War.
  • "most added track on modern rock radio" I think "most-played" would work best here, if that's what it's intended to mean.
  • "C-listed" might wanna explain what that means for readers unfamiliar with the term.
  • The "Release" section as a whole seems a bit too in-depth with material that would look better on the singles' respective articles. I would say that entire first paragraph you can cut, and just replace it with a brief summary of chart positions and sales figures. The nitty-gritty about release dates on various formats across various territories is unnecessary.
  • I'm a little concerned about the use of GearSlutz forum posts as a source. It doesn't strike me as being very reliable.
  • I don't think the Garbage fansite is an appropriate external link.

On hold, and apologies for having to wait so long! It's a nice article, you're almost there with it!

UPDATE 20:00, 20 October 2013 (UTC): And that's a wrap. It passes in my book!
