Microcontroller Features

What did you want to say with: "These features of enable operating systems."?

Hi Bigpete and Henrik,

Thanks for updating this, your reasons for posting better links

are quite sound - thanks for the help! -John — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jrl321 (talkcontribs) 17:26, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

citations for H.264 video encoding

I'm sorry I could not figure out how to replace the "citation needed" in the intro with this citation. It looks like a non-ADI original article about using blackfin to do H.264 encoding. I'll try poking some more buttons, but really it's like the monkeys writing shakespear so if someone with better skilz can make the edit here's the cite:

That's an inappropriate citation, because the implementation they describe offloads some of the H.264 processing onto an FPGA. However, a quick Google search shows some software libraries from ADI that implement H.264 encoding and decoding entirely on the Blackfin, which certainly seems to adequately prove the point. I'll add those links instead. --Bigpeteb (talk) 14:06, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks Bigpete, I found those also but thought an off-company source might seem less biased. Your criticism of this cite is well taken, thanks for pointing it out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jrl321 (talkcontribs) 13:32, 4 September 2014‎
I thought about that, but in this case the citation is just to prove that yes, the Blackfin is capable of H.264 encoding. A library from the manufacturer that performs said encoding certain fits the bill, unless there's any doubt that the manufacturer's library actually works (which I certainly don't think is the case). --Bigpeteb (talk) 13:43, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
