How did the name Black Volta come about
[edit]Good day to everyone. I actually am a student in the senior high level. On one of my vacations, I visited my old junior high School and whilst greeting my juniors and asking how their stay on campus was. They were saying all their experiences then they mentioned an excursion they had to the Black Volta. They said a lot on it. Later they were asking why it is Called "Black Volta" but the water is not black. I gave them an assignment to go search why the place was named Black Volta because they saw no one around there who will give them answers to their questions. I got sad 😢 later and more interested on getting to learn more🤗 So I think it is high time we get more interested in developing our natural tourist sides and educate we the growing youth not to forget about our pride😔...

- I am assuming that the names "Black Volta" and "White Volta" have some bearing on the colour of the water when it is in flood. Since this is "talk" I am hoping that someone could find a suitably referenced explanation. AbrewaAccraLady (talk) 14:24, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
