Class

[edit]

Non-single songs are not mentioned on the Powderfinger WikiProject page, but I've allocated this song a mid-importance tag as its importance is equal to any single at present due to its controversy. --lincalinca 11:47, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the controversy will last, so I changed it to low. And I added the category to the importance scale on WP:FING. ~ G1ggy! Reply | Powderfinger! 04:46, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I guess you're right. If the song ended up being strung out and actually affecting the release date, then I see the legitimacy in keeping it as mid, but you're right. Since it's not now actually affecting tghe album's release, it doesn't matter now. --lincalinca 09:35, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If it does suddenly affect the release date, then it will change importance, obviously. ~ G1ggy! Reply | Powderfinger! 09:41, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The lyrics fade out?

[edit]

The version of the song released on the album fades out while the bridge lyrics enter, presumably lyrics not heard are the lyrics that are considered to be inappropriate. (From the article)

I'm 100% sure my version of Black Tears (which came with DDatHe Bonus DVD version, bought on June 4) contains the lyrics "An island watch-house bed, a black man’s lying dead" - aren't they the lyrics that were supposedly faded out? - G1ggy Talk/Contribs 03:12, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My understanding was that that was part of it (as that was what was in the papers). I believe that there was something that was able to be taken more directly and literally about the case that made it need to be removed. I'm not 100% sure, though. I'll double check my version, because it faded out early. Is your version 2:30 long? Maybe you've got a different version, because of the DVD release? Maybe it was even faultily kept (or sneakily and intentionally). --lincalinca 04:04, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mine is 2:30 long, but it doesn't sound as if there would be a different length. I'm guessing there would just be a longer faded period (the faded period in mine is very short), but I don't know...odd. I'm assuming yours is the iTunes version, right? - G1ggy Talk/Contribs 05:53, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Palm Island

[edit]

This article is incorrect: Bernard Fanning did say that the song had parts on the Palm Island case http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/05/04/1914873.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.41.78 (talk) 02:34, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA nom on hold

Okay, I don't know if I suck at reviewing, or if you just friggen rule, but... The only thing I noticed is that maby you should get an edition number or date of release for ref 9. That is all I see. ;D Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 22:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the praise (it's more H2O who deserves it). As to the request you've made, it's  Done. I've amended that and expanded the reference. I can't find the original publication number, but I found the direct official web resource (which is almost better). --rm 'w avu 02:45, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
1... 2... passed! Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 02:53, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Skeeker/Burning Clean! :-) --rm 'w avu 03:25, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks indeed. Dihydrogen Monoxide 04:26, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is also song called Black Tears from the metal band Edge Of Sanity, which was also covered by Heaven Shall Burn. --85.127.230.175 (talk) 16:00, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Was it released as a single, or was it otherwise notable (per WP:MUSIC)? dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 00:47, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Edge of Sanity is on the Edge of Notability as it is, as is Heaven Shall Burn, so I don't think we've got much of an issue here. --rm 'w avu 06:03, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
