Earlier bridge
[edit]I'm pretty sure that the current 1927 bridge wasn't the first at that location. The 1820s Schuylkill Canal used a catwalk on a bridge at that point to cross the towpath from the Montco to Chesco sides of the river. Needs more research. --J Clear (talk) 13:47, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- Technically a mule walk, as the photo caption here reminded me (scroll down a bit for mule walk photo). Also has a diagram of the towpath crossing the bridge. --J Clear (talk) 14:19, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
