Map
[edit]Here is my draft base map of the park (no labels yet). Ivory is the park, green is Moshannon State Forest, and brown is private land Does it look OK? Compare the map in Worlds End State Park. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 05:02, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- It looks good to me. I am looking forward to its completion. I am going to be working on expanding the article this evening. I have some resources about the skiing history and present and the historic survey resources. Dincher (talk) 23:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just an idea. Perhaps a second map detailing the historic districts?Dincher (talk) 01:28, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- OK, let me finish this one first and see how it looks, but that sounds like a decent idea. After I finish this map, I have promised to do a map of England. I will mark the location of the cabins, etc. of the historic districts on this map. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

GA?
[edit]I have included everything I have for the article except for the info about the Historic Resource Survey of the CCC work at the park. I have the paperwork for it but not the web location. I will have to work on this later. I need to think about how to include it in the article as well. Dincher (talk) 00:21, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have gotten the 1984 history of the Pennsylvania state parks. It has no index, but I will look through it for Black Mo bits. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:38, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Sounds good. There is no hurry. I need to look through the Cupper refs too. Dincher (talk) 21:10, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
The (piped) wikilink for Phillipsburg redirects to disambiguation page Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. It looks like the link should be spelled with one 'l' and, possibly, be piped to Philipsburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania instead of the dab page since the other two entries there are redlinks. However, I'm not sure of the best resolution on this, so I'm leaving a note here instead. -- Michael Devore (talk) 20:49, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Whoops! Good catch - it is the Centre County Philippsburg - thanks. I will fix it in a few minutes. Thanks too for proofreading, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 20:58, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Hectares or square kilometers?
[edit]The Geobox uses hectares as the metric conversion for acres. However, the article mostly uses square kilometers, though there is at least one place I used hectares. We can't change the Geobox, but I think the article should be consistent. This was discussed at Oil Creek State Park's talk page some already. My preference is acres go to hectares and square miles go to square kilometers. What do you think? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:31, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Either way is fine with me. I am concerned that the average Joe will have no idea what a hectare is. I didn't until the conversation came up at Oil Creek. Dincher (talk) 14:03, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Second Map
[edit]Here's the base map for the historic districts, which are outlined in red. Maintenance is upper left, Day Use is largest in the middle and Cabins is below PA 504 in the middle. I think I will add squares for the structures with some sort of labels and a key. Should I crop the map (especially to the right, perhaps a bit on the top and bottom)? Feedback sought and welcomed. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:35, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. Crop to the right and just a bit at the top and bottom. My initial assesment on your talk page may be a bit off. I hadn't realized that the maintenace district was located on the edge of the park. Dincher (talk) 23:48, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK, here's the cropped version. Still need to add buildings and labels Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:21, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Looks good so far! Dincher (talk) 02:26, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Here's the version with the buildings in the two smaller districts added - again WP:BYC may be needed. How's this? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:54, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK, here's the final version - when it seems OK, let me know and I will upload it at Commons and delete it here. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 18:40, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

DCNR links
[edit]It looks like the links to the DCNR websites are going to need to be updated for this article as well as the other featured Pennsylvania state park articles. I can work on it here and there, but I won't have a set time to get them all fixed or have an estimate as to when they all can be fixed. It looks like DCNR has streamlined their websites. I already fixed from Allegheny Islands through Big Spring and will work on more as I get the time. Gerry D (talk) 02:42, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks - I will start with the Y end of the alphabetic list and work my way towards A. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 14:33, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
