A fact from Black Metropolis appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 29 February 2016 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
I mean they are not genres. Non-fiction is, by some definitions at least, a genre; sociology and anthropology are topic areas. They don't appear on our list of non-fiction genres, and I wouldn't consider Goodreads to be an RS on this point. Nikkimaria (talk) 20:27, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Our incomplete list lists all kinds of subjects. By that measure, you would be just fine if I put "History." So in other words it is just ipsa dixit, on your part? - Alanscottwalker (talk) 20:44, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed I would be just fine with that, as "a history" is a literary genre. Do you have any reliable sources stating that "a sociology" is a literary genre? If not, it doesn't belong there. Nikkimaria (talk) 02:51, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
