Crackdown on a peaceful protest?

[edit]
  • Black Friday was the crackdown by the National Security Service (NSS) on a peaceful protest.

I feel that peaceful here is slightly defying wp:npov and that a crackdown wouldn't be imposed upon a peaceful protest? Wouldn't 'public protest' rather than a 'peaceful protest' be more appropriate here since the latter is kind of contradicting? Xumm1du 15:58, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added the reference for this. Several news reports used the same term to convey the nature of the protest. --Oblivious 05:17, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--Do people actually use the term "Kalhu Hukuru" to refer to that day in the Maldives? Can you show any citations? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.189.173.123 (talk) 10:12, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

--My thoughts exactly, in the 8 years between then and now: not once have I heard the event being referenced by this name in the Maldivian political discourse (in either English or Dhivehi). Citations required.
