Evacuation areas screen captures

[edit]

What does everyone think about including screen captures of the evacuation areas for the article (such as here and here)? I think they would really add a lot to the article and would be great for historical purposes. I'm just not sure of the copyright/permissions aspect of them. Anyone else? — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 15:46, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A screen capture is a rather clear copyright violation. --Footwarrior (talk) 13:33, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not so certain about that. The Google Maps article itself has several. For any fires--not just this one--it might really be fair use. I'd like to see the policy. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 14:54, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Black Forest Wildfire

[edit]

Two articles on the same fire, the other is a stub. Footwarrior (talk) 13:22, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Support. No need for two articles on the exact same event. Merge any usable content and turn the Wildfire one into a redirect. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 14:50, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done I'd support, but the merge seems to have already been done. Wilhelm Meis (☎ Diskuss | ✍ Beiträge) 16:10, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Anon unsourced addition

[edit]

An anonymous user added this to the article in the lead:

actually there was no fire anywhere near this location, the fire started several miles east of there, this is the location that the fire was incorrectly reported as having started on the day of the fire, which created a great deal of unnecessary confusion and danger to Black forest residents

While that may or may not be true, there was no ref provided and--to be honest--it was an awkward edit. If anyone wants to find a ref and add it back, feel free. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 00:28, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
