  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
  • Refs:
    • Not required for GA - but dang, ref #18 is ugly formatted - "Environment, D. of the, 2009b. National recovery plan for the black-breasted button-quail (Turnix melanogaster) "
yikes! fixed Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:38, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Also not required for GA - but you give publication locations for some of the book refs but not for others. If you plan for FAC with this .. you'll need to standardize.
removed so all the same now Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:38, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Taxonomy:
    • "belongs to an ancient lineage of shorebirds" I'm not sure why we're mentioning "ancient" here without explaining what is meant?
My bad, I mean "early offshoot" which is plain English for Basal (phylogenetics). So reworded and linked. I must have written that a while ago, bad wording...reminds me of poncey aristocrats saying, "I come from a very old family", to which I think, "my family's just as old as yours pal...except I dunno their names...". Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 01:10, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • "RAOU" .... who is this?
Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union - linked Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:38, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Description:
    • "They weigh 80–119 g (2.8–4.2 oz), while males weigh 50–87 g " is "they" both males and females or just females? It's unclear.
yes/reworded Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:41, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • "co-occurring" I assume this means "occurs in the same locations"?
yes/was the most succinct way I could think of wording. Alternatives considered.... Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:41, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • "The globular pellets" link and quickie explanation? I have ... no idea what's meant by pellets - their feces? Something on their body?
in essence regurgitated indigestible material. Linked to Pellet (ornithology) and added "regurgitated" as well. Is that sufficient you think? Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 01:07, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Breeding:
    • "10 cm by 6 cm" needs a conversion
done Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 05:02, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • link for "buttress roots"?
done Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 05:02, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • "28 mm x 23 mm" needs a conversion
done Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 06:37, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • links for "precocial" and "nidifugous"
linked Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 06:34, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Feeding:
    • "anticlockwise" ... some weird Ozzie thing? I'd think "counterclockwise" would be more universally understood
yeah...changed to be more accessible as we use both but clearly others don't Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 05:02, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Conservation:
    • "Butchulla Land and Sea Rangers" link?
yeah, is part of Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger program, so linked to Indigenous ranger Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 06:39, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I randomly googled three phrases and only turned up Wikipedia mirrors. Earwig's tool shows no sign of copyright violation (The one site its flagging up is a stock photo site where someone has obviously taken the Wiki article as their description).
I've put the article on hold for seven days to allow folks to address the issues I've brought up. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, or here with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. Ealdgyth (talk) 14:23, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ealdgyth:, I've commented below each one (all done now), leave the striking out to you if you think I've addressed the point sufficiently Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 06:41, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good, passing this now. Ealdgyth (talk) 13:01, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
