Correct Origins
[edit]I happened to stumble upon an article about the origins of MANY Albanian, Montenegrin and Herzegovinian clans on Projekti Rastko - Shkodër / Projekat Rastko - Skadar. It explains that the Bjelopavlići descended from Bijeli Pavle (Pal i Bardh), a son of Leka, an Albanian military captain from Metohija, of the Dukagjini clan. The Bjelopavlići are blood-relatives to the Kosovar Gashani as their ancestor, Gavrilo (or Gasho in Albanian), was the brother of Bijeli Pavle. If you would like, I could provide the article to prove my so-called "theory". --Prevalis (talk) 01:20, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- We should bring all the folk traditions and versions as possible to this article in order to make it richer, yes.
- Lol, you discovered Rastko - Shkoder only now? :) I could've given the links a long time ago. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 20:11, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- The article clearly says there are several theories of the origin of Bjelopavlici: one is that Bijeli Pavle is a son of Leka Dukagjini - an Albanian prince that was born in 1410 - with the first mention of the Bjelopavlici (family) in 1411 that is undisputedly impossible. Another theory is that he is one of the "highland brothers" (Bijeli Pavle, Vaso, Pipo i Ozro).

To ease the political conflict, I believe both of you understand:
Pitam ih ja šta to znači. „Ne znamo“, kažu mi: „to je ime polja“. A kada im ja to razjasnih, kazjući im da je srpska reč, „More kaluđeru“, odgovore mi, „ne čudi se ti tome; mi smo sa Srblji jedan rod i pleme u staro vreme bili.““ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.114.179.165 (talk) 18:07, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Move to "Bjelopavlići"
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was to Merge Bjelopavlići (tribe) and Bjelopavlići plain to Bjelopavlići Klbrain (talk) 21:22, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
The article should be principally about the region, and then the clan (anthropology of this region). Bjelopavlići plain and Bjelopavlići (clan) are thus to be merged.--Zoupan 15:58, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- I agree. Consistency with Kastrati, Škrijelj, ...--Antidiskriminator (talk) 18:25, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Sounds like a good idea to me.Klbrain (talk) 21:21, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
