Popularity in late 2010s and early 2020s
They have become a meme with VSCO girls - on the TikTok social media app, popular with young girls as a fashion trend - I have no source, because it's an underground young people thing, and I wouldn't know what official sources to cite. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Envelopery (talk • contribs) 01:02, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
Expansion of footbed section
I think there should be some expansion within the footbed section of the article, specifically describing newer versions of the original footbed such as the "EVA". Any thoughts are very much appreciated. Daisydaily24 (talk) 00:44, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
Birkenstock Peer Review
There seems to be a little bit of unintentional bias in this article. The sources used are promising, but the terms "was popular among" and "surge of popularity" may need to be reconsidered. Wikipedia's guidelines include not using those kinds of terms, especially things like "most influential." Even using the word "unsuccessful" is debatable. Maybe there could be a few more sentences in the intro part of the article, such as about the type of company and who the founder is. You can look at other Wikipedia articles for inspiration. Maybe there can be headings about "Present Day" and "Production" added. Maybe you could provide details on not only what the shoe is, but also how it is produced. What is the process of producing it? What materials are used and what does the company say their purpose is? The "Footbed" section could be changed into a different name and used to talk about the production of the show. Going back to my first paragraph, you could create a section talking about commercial reception and maybe controversy. The "History" section on how the shoe came to be could be given as well. Also, try not to give only an Americentric perspective. Try to give perspective about the shoe in Germany. Talk about its impact in Germany, and then you can talk about its impact in other countries, like the United States. This article has a fair blueprint, but working off of that by adding new details and sections will help expand the article and improve it.
