Is this really a serious claim - the first civic public park? Hello - what about the public parks of Ancient Rome

- I think who ever wrote that was trying to say that the park is regarded as the first publicly funded park.

It says it was run down at the end of the century, something like that, only because they laid off the Park Police then also the gardeners, up till the 80's Birkenhead Park was lovely, when they sacked the workers it started to get rundown, and today it still isnt what it was, the Green house wen, that was an amazing building, the toilets went, but I think getting rid of the gardners was the worst thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ur-loki (talk • contribs) 21:11, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
