"Chicagoland"
[edit]Another editor has twice removed the term "Chicagoland" from this article. The edit seems to be unsubstantiated POV (a word that is not in that editor's personal taste). A source must be given if "Chicagoland" is to be deemed a controversial or inappropriate term by WP. See Chicagoland article. SergeWoodzing (talk) 09:36, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
- The problem, as can be seen in the "Chicagoland" article, is the widely varying definitions of Chicagoland. In 1926, the Tribune said it was 200 miles in every direction, which is nearly all the way to Iowa City IA, past Green Bay WI, out to Grand Rapids MI, nearly to Toledo, OH, and over to Bloomington, IN. Is this the exact area where she was popular? The article contains no citation supporting the claim that she was popular anywhere. What was the range of WGN and WTTW at that time? Did it exactly overlap the defintion of Chicagoland at that time, or now? Is there a source? No. This is why I changed it to "Chicago area". Speciate (talk) 20:20, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
- I have reworded this now to adhere more closely to the sources, as I see them. Thank you for your input which helped change this for the better. Cordially, SergeWoodzing (talk) 21:43, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Please see Talk:Wild Side Story#Creator requests action! The creator of that show is the son of this woman. Her estate is embarrassed by the tags here, and the same request applies here as there. Cordially, --SergeWoodzing (talk) 21:49, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

- Thank you! I've added the tag you suggested, here and at Talk:Wild Side Story#Creator requests action. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 01:02, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi I personally believe that as you are no longer editing the article then the COI tag could be removed but for the moment notability is questionable. Maybe if you have more sources that would be helpful and you could add them on this talk page. The fact that her family is embarrassed by the tags is not really a cause for concern as there is nothing derogatory in their placement. This is one of the main problems involving COI or autobiographical editing. It is very difficult to be objective about oneself or someone one is very close to especially a deceased family member. Dom from Paris (talk) 06:45, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
As per guideline I have specifically asked for the help of previously uninvolved editors here who would not be inclined to continue to lecture. Some of us, including me, aren't previously uninvolved.
I have also had these exact words repeated to me about 10 times by one and the same user since September:
- This is one of the main problems involving COI or autobiographical editing. It is very difficult to be objective about oneself or someone one is very close to especially a deceased family member.
Can't see, again, how that's helpful or constructive, since it has long been known that I'm aware of the COI problem. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 11:16, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
- I agree with Domdeparis that the COI tag could be removed now when it is clear that a coi person is not editing it any longer. But I do not understand why someone that is not COI should be banned from an article they have no connection with (more than being involved in a discussion with the COI person, that finally ended with the result that that person admitted COI. That means that the others were editing for the neutrality of Wikipedia.) Therefor I kindly asks to keep this discussion on the article subject and nothing else. Adville (talk) 11:38, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
- Does anyone have any more sources to help prove notability? Dom from Paris (talk) 15:47, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
As per clear opinions here I have removed the COI tag. Not knowing if that's going to be held againt me, I did it nervously, but in good faith as per talk. I will continue not to do any other editing on the article that is not clearly supported here. Perhaps editors with knowledge of Swedish can find more at sv:Birgit Ridderstedt or sv:C. Erik Ridderstedt. I have nothing to add to content. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 10:33, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- I missed ot wasn't deleted, so that's good. I have briefly checked for sources on svwp. Short of time now, and I have to lpok closer on them before thinking of adding them here, but it seems according to those who have edited this article on svwp that she is relevant. Adville (talk) 11:51, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- To make this article easier to see it should not be deleted I would like to see a list of songs she wrote, just like the article about Shellback (record producer). The list could easily be taken from STIM (when logged in), and maybe if they were on music lists also add that. Adville (talk) 11:47, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- To give this request the best chance at input from other editors, I'm reactivating the template. We'll give it another two weeks (15 days) to garner volunteers. Thanks, Spintendo 09:35, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

I do not see motivation here to keep the notability tag. The article has been improved. 10 TV shows in Chicago. Songs lists at STIM & YouTube. Chicago Tribune & Aurora IL articles. Removing the tag. --80.216.28.145 (talk) 23:33, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
Category problems
[edit]Please see this discussion. Seems like a lot of damage could be done potentially with an attitude like that. I am removing the superfluous category here. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 22:57, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
