Section with external links
[edit]I have removed the section. The links meant to advertise the companies, and it is non-encyclopeadic to have a link to every single distributor. Moreover, the internal links were all redlinks. The appropriate policies and guidelines here are: WP:NOT, WP:SPAM and WP:EL. Thank you, and have a good day. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:15, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
AfD?
[edit]When I find the time (and if I remember), I'm probably going to nominate this article for deletion as non-notable and an advertisement. Are there any reasons I shouldn't do so? --ElKevbo 03:53, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- No more or less reason than to do the same with Bike_Friday, or Moulton_Bicycle. The article is certainly notable to those who wish to know more about folding bicycles, and it is non-notable to those who don't; in that respect, it resembles thousands of others on Wikipedia. Apart from listing the reasons why you might want to buy one, the article also does a reasonable job of presenting the disadvantages, so it's difficult to argue that it's an advertisement. --Stephen Burnett 08:08, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- It is your right to nominate for AfD if you wish but I would vote "keep". There are bound to be reviews in main stream journals and cycle magazines of a bike this well known but they are just tricky to google because of the million blog discussions. [edit]I made significant contributions to this page (wrote most of the core text) and have no financial ties to any party associated with the manufacure, distribution, or sales of this bicycle. I feel it represents a balanced view of this bicycle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.84.215.134 (talk) 16:02, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Prosposed Change: <<Birdy is fussy to fold. It can take weeks of daily folding to get the fold under 10 seconds.>> This statement is utterly ridiculous! First of all the word "fussy" is derogatory, "weeks of daily folding" sounds like someone is trying to set a World Record, and "10 seconds" would probably be a World Record for any folding bike, and much faster than needed - to be useful. Here is what I think is a fair statement about folding the Birdy: "With a little practice, the Birdy can be easily folded in a step-by-step sequence in less than 60 seconds." A little practice is 5 minutes. Compared to the majority of folding bikes, the Birdy's ability to be quickly folded is an advantage. I'm setting a 30 day timer and if the "original owner" of the article hasn't fixed it, I will.
Rating
[edit]I rated this article start. It needs more references. The sections about recommended usage and price are non-encyclopediacal. The sections thereafter are too small, and should be combined somehow.--EdgeNavidad (talk) 16:11, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Major upgrade April 2013. Some strange person then deleted my image of a Mark 1. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Batterbu (talk • contribs) 04:27, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
