Two problem in last sentence of lede paragraph.
[edit]The very last sentence of the lede paragraph reads:
- Two inscriptions are dated the first one AD 388-392, the second one AD 430 and the third one AD 532.
There are two distinct problems with this sentence.
Problem #1 is that the sentence mentions "Two inscriptions" then mysteriously adds a "third". Besides the obvious disconnect in counting, in the subsequent Inscriptions section the three listed inscriptions do not match the dates from this sentence. Something is disconnected in all this.
Problem #2 is that according to the Wikipedia page on the Georgian language and specifically the Old Georgian language this language dates back to the 5th Century so any inscription dated "AD 388-392" would be an anachronism.
These problems appear to have been inserted by this edit without sources but I am not a scholar on this subject at all and do not have access to the cited offline texts so I am requesting that someone who does know this material (perhaps @LouisAragon: ?) help to clarify and clean up these issues. Thank you. 172.88.134.103 (talk) 03:22, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Maruan
[edit]The translation states "have mercy on Maruan" with the last word linking to some Peter. The article about him has no "Maruan".
- Are there any pictures of the missing inscription #2?
- Who has translated the inscriptions, #2 in particular?
- Who has established the link between whoever Maruan is and Peter?

This has only a three-paragraph lead (not summarizing anything in the body; WP:GACR 1b) and a short section giving transcriptions of the inscriptions and their translations. It is barely start-class. Google Scholar search for the title finds entire scholarly works about it that are not used to fill out this article, and could be (Khurtsilava, "The inscriptions of the Georgian Monastery in Bi'r el-Qutt and their chronology"; Matsulevich, "On Bir el-Qutt and the art-historical significance of its mosaics"; Tarchnishvili, "Le iscrizioni musive del monastero di Bir el-Qutt", etc.) It is very far from meeting WP:GACR #3a "it addresses the main aspects of the topic". —David Eppstein (talk) 02:28, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
- Greetings David Eppstein. I appreciate your time and contribution and hope we can make this article GA. I have expanded with Khurtsilava source per your request. Many thanks for that. Unfortunately cannot see Matsulevich document in public domain. Best regards, An emperor /// Ave 04:32, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
- Probably it would be best to continue expanding, also taking into account MOS:LEAD, and re-nominate at your leisure when you think there is no more expansion to be done. Sources do not need to be free online to be usable; interlibrary loan may be one way of finding them. Also try more Google Scholar and Google Books searches; I only looked at the first page of results under one spelling of the topic name so probably there is more to be found. —David Eppstein (talk) 04:38, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
- Will do. Regards, An emperor /// Ave 04:46, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
