I totally disagree with the definition gived. I mean to be Biomechanical something need too have some mechanic part integrated into some other biological,
so even if most of Tattoo's atirtist used to call biomechanical some Giger inspired works it's a completly wrong definition.
Alien and most of Giger's creations are basically biologic and almost never have mechanic part in it.
To find biomechanical origin into art you should check some movies, comics, and sci-fi/cyberpunk books and novels.
Here some stupid examples of the use of biomechanical art in some works, just the first that came in my mind.
Movies:
Tetsuo
Terminator
Blade runner

Series:
Star Treck
Doctor Who

Comics/Manga/Anime/Animation movies:
Akira
Ghost in the shell
Arms
Guyver
The Incal
The metabarons saga
The tecno priests
Writers:
W.Gibson
B.Sterling
P.K.Dick
