[edit]Edited somewhat - can you clarify what Wikifying this page might require - I will go and look up some other similar wiki entries of open source software to get an idea how they are laid out but if there are any other pointers I would appreciate them. As per the issues, I have added a bunch more links to the page internal and a few external. I also amended wording in a few places.
New academic source from 2022
[edit]I am planning to work through the article a little bit to extend/improve it, but in case another editor is able to help, there has been a more recent publication on BioUML from 2022: https://academic.oup.com/nar/article/50/W1/W124/6583230?login=false SmallMender (talk) 15:43, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
New article layout
[edit]As part of extending the article with information found in the BioUML wiki documentation and the papers listed in References, I would like to propose the following article layout (similar to BioJava):
- lead summary (up-to-date)
- Application and usage (already exists, but I would shorten it to make it sound less like an advert or partially merge into History and publication)
- Features (rephrased information from: https://wiki.biouml.org/index.php/Features with sub-sections)
- Software architecture (BioUML Server, BioUML Workbench and BioUML Web Edition already listed under the Available versions section)
- History and publications (based on papers listed in References)
- References (already exists)
One thing I am not sure about is whether per WP:RS one can rely on the BioUML wiki, because it theoretically qualifies as "user-generated content".
@Hi99ins I think you created the initial layout of the article. What do you think? SmallMender (talk) 20:19, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
