removed merge request

[edit]

This request has been sitting here for nearly two years. It was discussed in only negative terms on the Binge Eating Disorder page, and no positive comments have been logged in either discussion page. Removing it - if anyone wants it back they should bring debate on why the merge should occur.

Removed content

[edit]

I removed

typically sweet high-calorie foods of a soft texture, such as ice cream or cookies

because I've never heard this mentioned as significant when I've been taught about bulimia. If you have a reference for it please add it back into the article. ben 05:44, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adding information

[edit]

I would like to add information that would further differentiate bulimia and binge-eating. This would help in diagnosis. Unlike those with bulimia, those with binge-eating disorder symptoms typically do not purge their food, fast, or exercise excessively to compensate for binges. Additionally, these individuals tend to diet more often, enroll in weight-control programs and have a history of family obesity. --Xiomarabrioso (talk) 22:20, 20 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Irrelevant info about effects

[edit]

It seems like the three bullet points added under Effects are describing bulimia, whereas the rest of the section discusses bulimia mainly in comparison to binge eating and binge eating disorder. Should those points be removed? Radioactivated (talk) 19:36, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Men with binge eating update tag

[edit]

I added update tag in the "men with binge eating" section because at a cursory glance there are many more citations that can be used to expand it, compared to the 1998 one now. Here are a few of those: [1][2][3][4][5] Darcyisverycute (talk) 08:15, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
